We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Recee Neacole a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Recee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Growing up I was always full of personality and big dreams. Usually when anyone would ask me. “Recee what do you want to do when you grow up”, my response would always be, “Something Big”, I had no idea what that “something big” was but soon I would need a direct answer for that question. Adulthood, for me, started at an early age. I had my daughter at 15 and had no idea what our future would hold. I still had no answer for what I wanted to be when I grew up but one thing was for sure I wanted to be the absolute best mother for my daughter and provide her the world. By 20 years old I had two baby girls and working as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in Louisiana. My career was great for awhile, or so I thought. I was working as a RPhT as well as two part-time jobs just to make ends meet but eventually I wanted more and knew my girls deserved more. Fast forward to 2020 mid pandemic, COVID-19, I woke up one morning and decided I was leaving. I had no plan, no money saved, no real direction of what I was going to do but Texas was calling my name. For two weeks I applied for every pharmacy with a hiring sign awaiting my moment to pack up and leave. My opportunity had finally presented itself and I was on my way. I was nervous, anxious and scared but I knew this would be the biggest risk and decision I’d have to make since 15 year old me was sitting in a Labor and Delivery Unit awaiting a life. I moved to Texas in 2020 as a Registered Pharmacy Technician and 2 years later a Licensed Esthetician with my own brand and business. If anyone would have told me at a young age that I’d be my own boss one day I would have never believed them. For a moment in time it seemed all stacks were against me and there would be no way out. I knew every decision I made wasn’t just about me but the young girls that look to me for love, guidance and protection. It was the second biggest risk of my life and I’ll never regret it. Sometimes the biggest risks are the only ones worth taking.

Recee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At Body Language Aesthetic Bar our mission is to pamper our clients with luxury and affordability in the world of Beauty. Body Language Aesthetic Bar focuses on enhancing our clients with a full service beauty bar providing knowledge, personalized attention, comfort and skills. I entered the industry while dealing with skin issues of my own. From breakouts, hyperpigmentation, and oily skin I needed a remedy and I needed it fast. The more research I did the more interested I became with learning more and doing more. I started night classes at Salon Boutique Academy and once provided my graduation date my tunnel vision was on! I was working full time, going to school and still raising my daughters. During school I serviced as many clients as possible to gain much needed knowledge and exposure. Upon graduation my brand and business “Body Language Aesthetic Bar” had been created. We offer services in luxury facials, body waxing, eyelash extensions, eyebrow tint, wax and lamination, body contour, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and much more. Our passion, dedication and purpose is what sets us apart of others. Body Language Aesthetic Bar is more than just another spa or salon. It’s a Beauty Lifestyle, a safe haven for all your beauty needs.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Aside from training and knowledge I strongly believe networking is most helpful for succeeding in the beauty industry. The beauty industry is a very lucrative industry. You have an entire community to learn from, expand with and connect. I like to take every opportunity from conferences and expos to something as simple as supporting other small businesses to network, build and engage with others in my field. .

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back I’d absolutely choose the same profession. There’s not too much I regret or would change throughout my life and aesthetics has given me a different sense of dreaming big. I do, however, wish I would have started at an earlier age and not wasted so much time working several jobs at once but I strongly believe everything happens when it should.
