We were lucky to catch up with Rebel Phoenix recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Rebel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I began doing shorts on Facebook about recovering from PTSD and SA and a few went viral. I received an email about a test shoot to start modeling and building a portfolio.
I had always had a passion for music, dancing, and had other artistic inclinations, but I saw myself in a new way for the first time.
I dove in head first to learn as much as I could about the modeling and fashion world. I learned that a big part of the job is research! I researched every resource I could find. Joining Facebook groups, creating an IG, going to open castings and putting myself out there! Building connections all along the way

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Rebel Phoenix, a professional model and talent, model Coach and advocate for survivors of SA and NPD.
I have performed in multiple local fashion shows, as well as a few South Eastern fashion shows.
I have done print as well, with multiple publications, including Blaze magazine. I have worked with multiple brands and creatives to further their audience and increase sales.
I have a passion for modeling, music, and helping people become the best version of themselves! I believe in loving oneself in truth and compassion, and loving each other.
I look for other entrepreneurs with the same drive, dedication, and work hard to
push to create a vision that benefits many, not only one.
I think it is important to build one another up! No matter who they are or where they are. I also believe hard work gets you 80 percent of your dreams, the other 20 percent is faith and integrity.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Helping others!
Whether it’s coaching new models on how to walk or pose, to helping them find their confidence, I do my best to encourage others to follow whatever passion they have on my platform and in daily life. I find I am most happy when I am helping someone grow.
It is a humbling experience when you have watched someone begin to believe in their potential. And know that they began this journey watching yours!!

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Facebook Groups
Type what you are looking for in the search bar and find people in your area that are eager to help you learn.
Of course… Use discretion, be safe, and never give out your personal information. Never do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
But there is a lot of advice out there! If you dare to dream!
