Rebecca, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

At first, I thought it would be hard to figure out a name for the company. I was just driving along with a friend talking away. Then you have something catch your eye and get distracted. I always said “Squirrel!” So, with that I wanted to catch any one’s eye with my sign so they would come over and see what I have.

Rebecca, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi! I’ve been a seamstress for over 30 years. I have worked with a few different types of sewing businesses throughout my years of being a seamstress. But I have the most fun is picking the right fabric to make my products stand out. I want them to be funny, sporty, durable, washable and one of a kind. This year I’m focused on doing more events to get my name out there. June 6th will mark the 2 years “Squirrel!” has been in business.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Different events and word of mouth. Customers sharing with their friends and family has helped. Starting to try out with a few boutiques with consignment.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

I had some money I put aside for emergency. I decided to see if I could do this on my own. Still have challenges, but I don’t back down. I already had a commercial machine and needed one more special machine to make this happened.
