We recently connected with Rebecca Pasko and have shared our conversation below.
Rebecca, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Happy With Dogs represents who we are, and helps us to empower people and dogs to enjoy their lives together. Originally the company was named Cadence K9. The name Cadence comes from a border collie puppy that I owned when I was a child. Sadly Cadence got out the door and was tragically hit by a car. I started Cadence K9 in 2012 when I was moving to Phoenix Arizona. In 2017, I met my business partner, Melissa and we rebranded to Happy With Dogs because it embraces our company culture.

Rebecca, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Howdy! I’m Rebecca Pasko, an avid dog lover, who has taken that passion and created a safe and healthy place for dogs to get training, lodging, and daycare. Having started training professionally over ten years ago, I moved to Miami in 2016 to start sharing my expertise and now our company has grown to over 10 employees. Happy with dogs is a dog training, boarding, and daycare business. We put our dogs’ care, health, and safety first. We have small dog-to-human ratios, which ensures proper care and love.

We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
I was overrun with leads and needed help answering the phones and connecting with people. Melissa walked into a door of a facility I was renting space at. I was told she was bubbly and had an amazing persona and that’s exactly what I needed! Fast forward six years and it’s still an amazing partnership. We balance each other very well. It is nice to have someone to talk to and who knows everything inside and out. It also allows for more freedom.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Just start! People want to see behind the scenes and learn about you and your business. Teach people about why you do what you do. Try not to take on too much at once. For example, if you’re not posting now, start posting once every two weeks. Once you are good at that frequency increase it.
