Hi Rebecca, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client?

One of the best pieces of advice I ever gave to a client was to “be open to the unexpected.” This particular client, let’s call her Sarah, came to me with a very specific list of qualities she wanted in a partner. While it’s great to know what you want, her list was so detailed that it felt more like she was searching for a unicorn than a real person.

Sarah was successful, driven, and had a clear vision for her future, but her stringent criteria were actually holding her back from meeting potential partners. I advised her to focus on the core values and traits that truly mattered to her, like kindness, ambition, and a shared vision for the future, rather than getting bogged down in specifics like profession or hobbies.

Reluctantly, Sarah agreed to give it a try. Not long after, I introduced her to Mark, a high school teacher with a passion for music and a kind heart. He didn’t check all her boxes on paper, but they connected deeply on a personal level. Over time, Sarah realized that Mark’s qualities complemented her own perfectly. They brought out the best in each other, and their relationship flourished.

Fast forward a few years, and Sarah and Mark are happily married with a baby on the way. Managing a team and maintaining high morale requires a blend of clear communication, empathy, and strategic planning. It’s essential to ensure that everyone on the team understands the goals, expectations, and their individual roles. Regular updates and open lines of communication help prevent misunderstandings and keep everyone on the same page.

Showing genuine interest in your team members’ well-being is crucial. Listening to their concerns, celebrating their successes, and providing support during challenging times builds trust and fosters a positive work environment. Recognizing and rewarding the hard work and achievements of your team can significantly boost morale and motivate team members to continue performing at their best.

Providing opportunities for professional development and growth, whether through training programs, mentorship, or new project assignments, keeps team members engaged and motivated. Creating a work environment that promotes collaboration, respect, and inclusivity encourages teamwork and ensures that everyone feels valued and included.

Leading by example is fundamental. Demonstrating the values and work ethic you expect from your team sets the tone for the entire team, making it important to lead with integrity and positivity.
