Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rebecca Lynne Morley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rebecca Lynne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
Yes, I feel like I am misunderstood & mischaracterized all of the time. Anytime I am categorized is when I am misunderstood. I don’t belong into any category.
Rebecca Lynne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
This question is really wordy. I am trying to keep my answer simple. I am an artist called Princess Cyberspace. I model, act, DJ, & write/sing electronica music. I suppose I could describe my style as the ‘female Daft Punk.’ I am really inspired by their use of minimal, redundant vocals. I mostly write songs about heartbreak & longing for true love in an ever-changing/evolving digital world.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Provide government-funded grants & schooling for all artists & creatives, no matter who you are or where you come from.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
It’s not very rewarding. At least not for me, yet. I don’t suggest anyone go into art if you want to be rewarded.
