We were lucky to catch up with Rebecca Bystrom recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rebecca, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
I have always lived life as an artist. “The creative type” called “gifted and told how lucky I am to view the world thru my rose colored glasses. My uncanny response to those responses & affirmations: Creativity is a blessing and a curse. Learning how to use my gifts for good is an ongoing life long education, that is why I am here.
Over the past 20 years, my full time job as a wedding photographer has taught me how to watch in silence, be attentive to everything happening around us, and look for the in between moments, the small nuances that appear inside the seams in life. “glitter moments” & “little flecks” (these are the treasures worth keeping and tend to be the most important minor major details that unfold in a wedding day). Applicable to everyday life.
I do not believe there is any ONE milestone experience; it’s a plethora of beautiful couples that I have witnessed tying the knot in union together. (TSP has photographed over 400 weddings!) When I sit back and reflect on my past job experience, I see it as a culmination and blending of all the love stories singing together the wedding Love theme, experiencing a similar dance and repeated ending: “And they lived happily ever after.” My job as a photographer was to expose the love and showcase it with all the happy that makes up the day! I will continue to capture visual love stories. It would be hard to give up on my favorite place to exist, in the trenches capturing happy smiles and people living life.
I am looking forward to shifting into the musical seat, putting on a new hat as a frequency artist and practicing my other life long skill as a musician. This is the place where I can apply years of studying musical theory and energy healing. This is done by playing my heartstrings on my cello. Albert Einstein once said: the future of medicine will be the medicine of frequencies; I am giddy excited to put my life studies into action and watching how this all unfolds organically, naturally homegrown. With love: B
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Yikes – this is a loaded question! I would consider myself a “jack of all trades” only because I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. (cheeky humor and all) I exist and shift as life demands. Life in context: See a need fill a need. Currently, life has me knee deep in the trenches; raising & homeschooling my kids (6 total) Ages 22 to 3 years. That takes precedence on top of everything else I can fit into my day to day. My kids are my biggest blessings and best lessons. When I am not mom, I can be found working under a few business names, My title shifts and wiggles, but always allows me to fully express my Artist side with love and a place to be me.

My first baby business has been my constant for over 20 years. While I navigated a 7 year divorce, I found my visual voice and fell in love over and over again as I learned the industry: listened and watched love stories unfold in front of my eyes. “real life” My calling? This job has shown me everything I needed to learn, Business & Art. Learning taxes to setting up LLC and working through the COVID years; it’s been a long and winding road on how to grow as an entrepreneur and as a person. I am forever grateful for this path to exist in and with for the last 20 years. I hope to carry this torch forward, including my kids in this business has been the key to success. My oldest runs the photo booth, while the younger siblings are counting down the days until they can take over. My #3 is a lover, she is great as my right hand, helping me adjust and fluff. While letting me show and guide her thru the wedding day. My #4 is edging into the co-pilot editing seat. She has her heart set on becoming a graphic designer. I’d say at 14 she is on her way to learning some cool things on the editing platforms! As a parent, it is my job to show my kids how to be resilient and perhaps fearlessness has to be addressed at some point in this adventure
Rusty Cello + Yellow Chair
I begged my mother to buy a cello, I was 16 at the time. Our small community did not offer much in the orchestra department, I am thankful my mom was able to search and find a private instructor who agreed to take me under her wing. My cello teacher was a blessing, she fostered my love for this beautiful wood instrument. It became my favorite hobby to practice daily. The sound of the dead moo-ing cow could be heard through the open windows in town. My mom boasted about her radiant flower beds; perhaps it was too painful for her to stay inside while I practiced, so she went to the gardens to give me space to play my heartstrings. Thanks mom for all that you do, and all that you are; your continued support and understanding means the world to me: with my parents support I was able to I join a few pit orchestra performances (student life in the trenches), I played in the UMD orchestra, sadly after a good stint, the finicky beast was packed away once kids entered the life stage. Lights out for the cello. After a separation of 10 years. I found my “Trusty Rusty” sitting in the outdoor storage shed where I had left it, my curiosity peeked. I dug it out of the dusty corner and went to work refurbishing my fellow cello. My heartstrings were alive once again. Since the reunion, the sounds never stop: daily practice is a must! I will never go a day without playing my cello; paying my finicky beast makes me happy. This is more than a feeling, it’s a way of living. With that break through news, I was given a new job title
TellaStory In Joy Light
In the winter of 2023, I found myself in a transitional period. A little unsure of what life needed from me. I existed and listened, and wandered. I watched for synchronicity and boy the universe responded with something incredibly magical!
My friend April owns In Joy Light located in Luck WI. She had purchased a set of Lemurian Crystal Lights (limited quantities exist: EXCLUSIVE). I may be called crazy if I speak out loud or go on a whim: I do believe these light beams are simply beautiful and hold the magical powers to heal us at the soul level. The becoming was in the making when April and I were placed together in one time and one location. The past 2 years have been a wild ride of deep dive studying, researching and learning quantum terms: Albert Einstein string theory and String Resonance; Frequency integration; Plus ALL THE Practicing, while navigating a new frontier of unknowns: Entanglement, Energetic Cords and Ancient Holistic Practices. As a Reiki Master and frequency artist: my life bucket list would be to heal the world and help us all “feel better”. My mission is to show others that pure love does exist when you learn to be still. I am honored to be your guide in this endeavor as we uncover the treasures tucked inside your heart.
Partnering Lights + Sound has changed my life, Healing deep ancestral wounds, working through present conditions, Combining alternative natural ways to mindset shift perspectives for the better? WOW!!! Life is so delicate and incredibly good. Intricately woven by the masterful universe.. I will continue to study and learn from the master teachers before me: I’ve got a long list ahead learning everything I can about frequency + lights. Energy goes where it is needed most. If Albert Einstein is correct and the future of medicine is in Frequency; I do believe the lights offer a strong point to show us there is magic to be found and uncovered daily. We would love to share what we are working on; Reach out to In Joy Light for more information.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My story started before I was fully aware: After a near death experience at the age of 5, my life has been filled with ups and downs; Regulating a traumatic event from 1986 (brain injury: TBI) that decided to “flare up” 37 years later. Complex PTSD at its finest. I am thankful for groups like IANDS (international association near death studies) who have provided me a safe place to grow and understand the events that occurred while I was “TKO” IANDS small groups have provided assurance that I am not crazy. Perhaps overcoming “more than others” with a gifted experience that left me with more knowledge than I know what to do with. Strange stuff. I live life with my claire’s fully activated: Clairvoyance, Claricognizance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Clairalience, Clairgustance, Clairempathy, Clairtangency, Intuitive Psychic, as I heal myself, these “gifts” are growing stronger. Sometimes it’s “TOO MUCH”!! Slowing way down to feeling the feels, breathing through it is all I can do. Pause & reflect. Redirect. Finding balance and my voice to better explain this “metaphysical science” of unknowns that the majority of people do not talk about or address. Let’s have a deep dive conversation on this topic, I am an open book. There is SO much to learn here, I am all ears and happy to share what I have uncovered in my experiences living with “it”. Life is an ongoing education on myself. I am here to learn and grow as an individual and here to help the collective grow & understand as they are ready. I’ll meet you where you are at. Some have termed this: The bridge. I’d like to take it a step further, I am the bridge who offers lift assist in a non-invasive way. My language is love & music. The tools that I use: lights + frequency integrations partnered with good intentions “stay tuned”
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I LOVE books: Preferably self help, sometimes I just need an empty journal page where I fill in the blank pages with my channeled thoughts. Random fun fact: In 2023 I filled (7) 300 page journals. I guess there was lots on my mind, maybe a book will bubble up and out into a tangible format. For now, I enjoy reading what others have to say. My favorite books currently sitting on the shelf: Journey of the Souls – Micheal Newton / Eileen McKusik – Tuning forks -Frequency / The Secret Teachings of All Ages – Manly P Hall
The Bible + daily devotion / Indigo Souls – Yol Swan / Somatic Psychotherapy Toolbox: Manuela Mischtke – Reeds
Middle Pillar – Israel Regardie / Zen Entrepreneur – Rizwan Virk / The Secret Language of the Body – Inna Segal
Metaphysical Anatomy – Evette Rose / Mindvalley – APP = used daily.
The list may be long there are so many great book titles to explore!!
