We recently connected with Reagan Mayer and have shared our conversation below.
Reagan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I think that Photography is a revolutionary thing, taking moments of life and freezing them to keep for as long as you can. I want to do just that for people. I want to share the happy, sad, emotional, funny, ect, moments with them and the people that mean the most to them. I hope that taking the photos for them gives them a sense of peace in the future.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey, I’m Reagan Gene the face behind Endless Evergreen! I was born and raised in MN with a passion for the outdoors in everyway. I am the oldest of seven kids, and would do just about anything for my family. I have a very spunky, loving puppy named Gable. When I am not behind the camera I am working in a small town school with some pretty awesome 4th graders as a para, exploring the outdoors, hanging out with friends or reading a good book!
Two years ago I made the decision to move west to Medora, ND. This opened my eyes to the world that God has given to us. From here my passion for photography had flourished. I have had the opportunity to work with some incredible people, hear some crazy wonderful stories and grow as a person. This move showed me that you need to run after your dreams or you will truly never get to see the outcome. My dream you ask… to continue to travel and hear the stories of the people right around us, all while capturing the beautiful moments of life!
The meaning behind Endless Evergreen is simple. If you look up what the biology term for evergreen you will get:
“a plant that retains its leaves through the year and into the following growing season”
It’s an endless plant that will continue to grow throughout years to come. This is what I want to provide for you, those frozen moments of that will last forever and grow beyond measures.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
YOU CAN NOT DO EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN. For me personally I do not like to get help, but in the last year of photography I have met my bestie Jada who runs Midwest Moments. She has helped me grow in my photography immensely as I have been second shooting for her this past year. She has taught me not only new skills within my editing and camera settings, but she has taught me patience and perseverance throughout my business. I have found a new peace when it comes to Endless Evergreen and I am very thankful for all of her help!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Growing up I have always been into photography, I want to freeze moments in life so that I personally could look back on them. As I got older and lived some life I had realized that I can do this for all people.
