We were lucky to catch up with Reagan Bentke recently and have shared our conversation below.
Reagan, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I began teaching myself guitar at the age of 6 and formed my first band in 5th grade. My passion for audio production ignited in 2009, and ever since starting my first band, I’ve aspired to pursue a career in playing and/or audio production.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been a part of multiple bands for most of my life, sharing the stage with some of my favorites and even touring. After moving to Austin in 2014, I attended the Recording Connection Audio Institute. Since then, I’ve collaborated with local bands and contributed to projects of major artists. A few years ago, I began freelancing audio production from home, and this year, I’m eager to offer my services to even more artists.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Witnessing others thrive from the dedication I invest during my free time is truly gratifying. The most rewarding aspect for me is the satisfaction and feedback we receive from our shows or the music I’ve contributed to.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In the age of streaming and social media dominating marketing efforts, consistently promoting each other’s pages showcasing their work, purchasing merchandise, and referring friends and connections are crucial. Emphasizing networking and support is key, and there’s room for improvement for many of us in this aspect.
