We were lucky to catch up with Rea Owens-Byerly recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rea, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
One of my favorite songs is by Beyonce ” I Was Here”
… I want to leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget
… I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know I was here
… I wanna say I lived each day, until I died
I know that I had something in somebody’s life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference and this world will see
We all want to be remembered for something, to be known as more than merely ordinary, to be seen as someone who truly made a difference. We all want to be known as someone who truly made a difference, to leave an imprint on this world and to leave behind something that can make the future a little brighter.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Rea Owens-Byerly, owner of Rea Danielle Designs. I’m an accredited event planner, designer, and mother. A native of Los Angeles, CA I officially launched my company in Dallas, Texas in December of 2013 after years of planning fabulous events for friends and family. Now I find joy in helping others celebrate important milestones with their families.
Bringing the inspiration I find through traveling and exploring other cultures into the events that I plan always creates a chic and exceptional experience for guests with my touch of personalizing every momentous detail. I use my passion to ensure that every couple receives the personal care and attention that’s so important to creating their perfect day.
I accept a limited number of projects so that I’m able to give careful attention to each client and ensure that every event is carried out flawlessly. Our skilled team combines creative flair and a keen eye for detail to bring your vision to life. Our concierge-style planning approach provides our distinguished clients with profound comfort and unimaginable peace of mind.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth has been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele. New clientele come by the way of my loyal clients that make the positive referral. I pride myself on providing amazing service to all . This has shown to be tried and true. I’m grateful for it all.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Rea Danielle Designs was my side hustle that became a full time business for me. Growing up my parents always entertained or hosted big events. So naturally, it was in me to throw fab parties. When I had my son I started throwing him big birthday parties. I would get asked all the time did I do this professionally. I started helping family, friends, and co-workers with their events and or weddings to build my portfolio. Over the years going to conferences, networking, continuing education, branding, loyal clients, and investing has helped me scale to where I am today. Some of the key milestones were the awards being recognized by clients, peers, and being in multiple publications.
