We were lucky to catch up with Rea Frey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Rea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I still remember the exact moment Unreachable was born—not as a business, not as a book, but as a realization. It wasn’t in a brainstorming session or a perfectly planned-out strategy meeting. It was in the quiet, in the space I hadn’t allowed myself to have in years.
For so long, I had been hyper-reachable—by email, by text, by social media, by the never-ending demands of modern life. But the more reachable I became to everyone else, the more unreachable I was to myself. And I started noticing it everywhere.
We’ve built a world where we’re expected to be available at all times, constantly plugged in, always scrolling, always consuming, always responding. Yet, beneath all that connection, we’ve never felt more disconnected—from our own thoughts, from our bodies, from our intuition. Essentially, we’ve become strangers to ourselves.
That realization hit me hard. I started questioning everything—how we live, how we spend our time, how we define success. I saw how technology, media, and the constant pull of distractions were shaping our brains, our emotions, and our relationships. And I thought: What if we flipped the script?
Instead of being reachable to every distraction, every notification, every external demand—what if we became Unreachable?
Not in a disconnected, avoidant way, but in an intentional way.
Unreachable to the noise, so we can be more reachable to ourselves.
Unreachable to the demands of a world that tells us we’re not enough, so we can reach our own worth.
Unreachable to the mindless consumption, so we can reach real connection, real presence, real life.
That’s where this movement started. And I say “we” because I didn’t create Unreachable alone. My husband, Alex, has been with me every step of the way—not just as my partner in life, but as my partner in this mission. He’s a breathwork facilitator, a Master Reiki practitioner, and someone who embodies what it means to reach inward instead of always reaching outward. Together, we built Unreachable to help people reset, reclaim, and rewire how they engage with the world—so they can finally engage with themselves.
And we knew this wasn’t just another self-help concept. It was a necessity.
Because when you experience what it feels like to be fully present, fully alive, and fully in control of your own mind again—you don’t want to go back.
So Unreachable isn’t just about unplugging from your phone. It’s about rewiring how you exist in a world that profits from your distraction. It’s about showing up for yourself in ways that technology, media, and overstimulation have stolen from you.
And it’s only the beginning.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Who We Are & How Unreachable Was Born
For those who may not know me, I’m Rea Frey, a bestselling author, book coach, and entrepreneur who has spent my career helping people tell powerful stories—both on the page and in their lives. My work has spanned from writing novels and nonfiction to coaching over 500 first-time authors. Before all that, I was in the health and wellness field as a certified personal trainer and nutritionist and am now an integrative health practitioner. But at the core of everything I do is a single question: How do we truly connect?
For years, I thought connection was about communication—writing, sharing, speaking, responding. But the deeper I got into my own work and personal transformation, the more I realized: true connection doesn’t come from reaching outward. It comes from reaching inward.
My husband, Alex Holguin, comes from the world of healing. He’s a certified breathwork facilitator, reiki practitioner, and someone who understands the power of the nervous system better than anyone I know. Together, we saw a massive gap in the conversation about mental health, stress, and digital overstimulation. People are exhausted. They’re anxious. They’re overwhelmed. And yet, they’re constantly told the solution is to add more—more self-care routines, more mindfulness apps, more productivity hacks.
But what if the solution isn’t more?
What if the answer is less?
That’s where Unreachable was born—a brand, movement, and lifestyle dedicated to helping people disconnect from the external noise so they can reconnect with themselves.
What We Do & How We Help
We don’t just teach people to put their phones down for a weekend. We help them rewire their entire relationship with distraction, presence, and energy. Our work spans multiple offerings, each designed to help people step out of autopilot and reclaim their time, focus, and well-being:
Breathwork & Nervous System Reset – Alex leads guided breathwork protocols (we offer a 5-minute breath protocol at the end of every podcast episode) to help regulate emotions, increase resilience, and create clarity in the body and mind.
Creativity & Connection – Through Unreachable, we offer creative coaching, share monthly Unreachable guides, freebies, and tools that show people how to reset their lives from the inside out—including our brand new Unreachable Journal, which offers over 240 pages of daily prompts, quotes, and actions.
Podcast & Conversations – We host The Unreachable Podcast, where we explore what it really means to live with presence, from tech-free experiments to interviews with experts on mental fasting, nervous system health, and human connection.
Retreats & Workshops – Currently, we offer corporate workshops that help people reset in real time—through neuroscience, breathwork, movement, deep stillness, and real-world disconnection from the digital world. We are also building tech-free retreats.
Mental Fasting & Unreachable Windows – We introduce structured breaks from digital and social noise (what we call Unreachable Windows) that allow people to experience the true power of subtraction—and reclaim their time and mental clarity.
What Sets Us Apart?
The conversation around digital detoxing, mindfulness, and stress relief isn’t new. But the way we approach it is.
Most solutions tell you to take a break—step away from your phone, take a deep breath, or meditate for 10 minutes. But they don’t address the root issue: why are we so addicted, overstimulated, and disconnected in the first place?
At Unreachable, we don’t just help people disconnect from tech. We help them reconnect to themselves.
It’s not about abstaining from screens—it’s about rewiring how you engage with them. It’s about shifting the focus from mindless consumption to intentional creation. From living on autopilot to living with awareness.
We don’t believe in rigid rules, shame, or unrealistic lifestyle shifts. We believe in practical, powerful, science-backed tools that help you feel better immediately—and create lasting change over time.
What We’re Most Proud Of
Watching people transform.
We’ve seen clients, friends, and strangers experience real shifts—better sleep, improved focus, deeper presence with loved ones, and a profound sense of calm in a world designed to keep them distracted.
Bringing this message into the world.
Unreachable is more than a concept—it’s a movement and a way of life. Seeing it come to life in our community has been incredible.
Helping people feel better for free.
Many of our best tools are available without any cost because we believe in making transformation accessible to everyone.
What We Want You to Know
We’re not here to tell you to delete all your apps, live in the woods, or swear off technology forever. We’re here to show you how to be intentional about your attention.
We’re here to help you stop giving away your energy to things that don’t serve you—and start reclaiming your time, presence, and peace.
If you’re feeling tired, overstimulated, distracted, or like you’re constantly reachable but never truly present—you’re not alone.
And if any of this resonates with you, we invite you to experience what it feels like to become Unreachable—in the best way possible.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building Unreachable Without Social Media
One of the biggest ironies in modern business is that to be seen, you’re expected to constantly be on. We live in a world where success is measured in likes, followers, and engagement metrics. But when we started Unreachable, we knew we wanted to do things differently.
Because how can we talk about the power of subtraction, the importance of real presence, and the freedom of unplugging—if we’re constantly chasing algorithms and fighting for attention in a digital landscape designed to keep people distracted?
So, we made a bold decision: We’re building this business without relying on social media.
How We’re Growing Without the Algorithm
Instead of spending hours crafting viral posts, optimizing content, and feeding into the endless loop of social validation, we’re focusing on what actually moves people:
Deep, Meaningful Content – Instead of chasing likes, we’re building a Substack and newsletter audience where we can share real, valuable insights—without a character limit or a disappearing algorithm.
Word of Mouth & Authentic Connection – The best marketing isn’t a flashy Instagram reel—it’s a real transformation. When people experience the Unreachable methods—whether it’s a breathwork session, an Unreachable Window, or simply a shift in how they engage with the world—they naturally want to share it. And that kind of organic recommendation is far more powerful than any ad campaign.
Podcasting & In-Depth Conversations – Rather than churning out 15-second videos, we’re focusing on long-form, meaningful discussions through The Unreachable Podcast. Because the ideas we’re sharing deserve time and space to breathe.
In-Person Retreats & Experiences – The heart of Unreachable isn’t about just learning concepts—it’s about feeling the shift in real time. That’s why we’re creating live, immersive experiences where people can step away from the noise and experience what it truly means to be Unreachable.
Strategic Media & Press – Instead of spending time on TikTok trends, we’re focusing on media placements, interviews, and thought leadership—like our recent feature in The New York Post. These opportunities put us in front of the right audience in a way that actually aligns with our values.
One-to-One Engagement – We focus on real conversations instead of mass broadcasting. Whether it’s a newsletter reply, a podcast listener reaching out, or a participant at one of our events, every connection we make is intentional and real.
The Story of How We Built an Audience on Social Media (And Why We’re Stepping Away)
We both spent years in the social media space—building brands, sharing content, and growing communities. I built my audience as an author and book coach, helping aspiring writers land publishing deals and craft their stories. Alex grew his following through breathwork and holistic healing, sharing techniques to regulate the nervous system and bring people back to themselves.
And we were successful.
But we were also exhausted.
Social media has a way of making you the product. The constant pressure to create, post, and stay relevant wasn’t just draining—it was pulling us away from the very thing we were trying to cultivate: deep, meaningful connection.
We realized that while social media can be a tool, it was not the foundation we wanted to build this business on.
Instead of trying to game the algorithm, we chose to focus on substance over speed, real impact over surface-level reach, and long-term sustainability over instant gratification.
Advice for Those Just Starting to Build Their Presence
If you’re starting a business, movement, or personal brand, you might feel like social media is the only way to grow. It’s not. Here’s what we’ve learned:
Own Your Audience – Social media platforms can disappear overnight. Build an email list, start a newsletter, or create a community you control. You don’t own your Instagram followers, but you do own your direct relationships with readers, listeners, and customers.
Go Deep, Not Wide – Instead of chasing thousands of followers, focus on depth. A small, engaged audience that truly resonates with your message is far more powerful than a large, passive one.
Prioritize Connection Over Content – It’s easy to get caught up in content creation, but nothing beats real engagement. Respond to emails, have real conversations, and build relationships outside the digital sphere.
Play the Long Game – Social media is built on short-term dopamine hits, but real business growth takes time. Focus on impact, consistency, and building something worth talking about.
Ask Yourself: Is This Serving Me? – If social media energizes you and fuels your mission, great. But if it’s draining you, distracting you, or making you feel like you’re on a hamster wheel—step back and rethink the strategy.
Final Thoughts: Why Unreachable Is Leading by Example
We’re not saying social media is bad. But we are saying that if you feel trapped by it, you don’t have to play by its rules.
Unreachable is about being intentional—with your time, your attention, and your energy. So it only makes sense that we would build this movement in a way that aligns with our values.
We’re proving that you can grow a business without being glued to a screen.
That you can make an impact without selling your soul to the algorithm.
That you can create deep, meaningful connections—without sacrificing your own presence in the process.
And if you’re reading this? It means we’re already doing it.
If this resonates with you, we invite you to join us in becoming Unreachable—on your own terms.

Building Unreachable from the Quantum Realm: A Different Way to Create
Most businesses start with a blueprint—market research, branding strategies, sales funnels, growth projections. They rely on data, competition analysis, and external validation. But Unreachable? It wasn’t built that way.
It was built from the quantum realm—from possibility, from energy, from tuning into something beyond what the physical world shows us.
And a huge part of that inspiration comes from Dr. Joe Dispenza.
His work on neuroscience, quantum physics, and the nature of reality has been transformational—not just in our personal lives but in how we’re building this movement. His teachings show that you don’t create success by chasing it—you create success by becoming it.
Instead of grinding through traditional business strategies, we asked:
What if we built this company by aligning with energy rather than effort?
What if we tapped into the field of infinite possibility instead of just looking at the “realistic” options?
What if we trusted that by fully embodying the mission of Unreachable, the right people, opportunities, and momentum would come to us?
And that’s exactly what happened.
The moment we stopped forcing growth through traditional methods—social media strategies, constant content creation, algorithm hacking—and instead focused on embodying the feeling of already having built something powerful, things started shifting.
Quantum Principles in Business: Creating from the Inside Out
Dr. Joe teaches that we don’t change our lives by working harder in the same reality—we change our lives by stepping into a new one.
So instead of thinking about Unreachable as something we had to build from scratch, we started tuning into the version of ourselves who had already built it.
That meant:
Visualizing and feeling the energy of a thriving movement before it physically existed.
Trusting in timing, synchronicities, and flow rather than forcing business decisions out of fear or urgency.
Letting intuition guide strategy, even when it didn’t make sense by conventional standards.
Focusing on energy first, action second.
And the results have been undeniable. Without relying on traditional business growth tactics, we’ve seen opportunities, collaborations, and audience growth happen naturally—without the hustle.

Final Thoughts: Building Without the Hustle
What we’re doing isn’t just about creating a business—it’s about shifting the way we approach work, success, and impact.
We’re not chasing numbers.
We’re not following trends.
We’re not forcing outcomes.
We’re tapping into the field of infinite possibility and allowing Unreachable to unfold in the way that best serves the people who need it.
And if that resonates with you, you’re already part of this movement.
For those who feel like traditional entrepreneurship isn’t working for them—maybe it’s not about pushing harder.
Maybe it’s about getting quiet, going inward, and stepping into the future version of yourself that has already created what you’re seeking.
Because the answers?
They’re already here.
You just have to become Unreachable enough to hear them.
