We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rayneisha Wroten. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rayneisha below.
Alright, Rayneisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
My first dollar earned as a creative was in June 2020. I posted a small solar system painting on Snapchat and an acquaintance reached out inquiring about pricing for a custom painting she wanted. After we discussed on her idea further I realized it would be a huge challenge for me. I had just started painting again that month and I hadn’t painted anything of that caliber. I informed her and asked for the opportunity to execute her vision. She told me she believed in me and sent the deposit. I bolted to the store to pick up my art supplies and started on the sketch immediately. The more I emerged myself into the painting negative thoughts encroached upon me. “You’re not good enough!” “She won’t like it!” I started to believe those things and decided to give up, “Was I actually capable of such a large task?” With the love and support from my family, I continued painting. I was determined to prove to myself and future customers that I was an exceptional artist. Still, those thoughts tried encroaching upon me however my ambition and drive lead me to finish the painting. After receiving the final payment and shipping the painting ultimately I was proud of myself and the final product. She received the painting a week later and was so ecstatic she posted a photo of it on Snapchat. An acquaintance of hers requested my services to recreate the same painting using different colors. I accepted the request and from there my business grew as well as my artistry.

Rayneisha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I loved painting any and everything so I dove into the art of painting to develop my technique and skill. I create custom-pour paint, abstracts, portraits, etc. What sets me apart from others is that I talk with my customers to develop a better understanding of their vision to create exactly what is desired. In addition, my ambition and drive to perfect my skill sets me apart from others. I am proudest of my progress in such a short time as an artist also pushing myself to create an amazing piece every time I paint. I would like potential clients, followers, and fans to know that I pride myself on continuing to develop as an artist and delivering exceptional original and custom artwork.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to create something so meaningful for someone, for me is the most rewarding aspect of being an artist. Understanding my client’s vision and executing it helps me continue to work through struggling moments during a session. Knowing that I’m creating an inspirational piece is gratifying and having the opportunity to explore and learn new techniques helps me be a better artist.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Evoking emotion and becoming influential and inspirational through my art is currently driving my creative journey. I believe there’s so much artwork and artists can do to positively impact the world and future generations. I plan to use my potential and drive to impact not only myself, my son, and my family, but individuals in my community as well.
