We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raylin Taylor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Raylin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.

We specialize in working with the black owned business and set out to defeat the negative stereotypes that may blind their true character. 90Centre wants to level the playing field for all professionals when it comes to being expressive and sharing their story.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into the industry by being involved in magazine. I noticed that is was very hard to establish myself as a journalist and be heard. PR was the perfect way to help people/organizations that were already established, become more successful. I love setting goals and achieving them. 90Centre is here to help minorities be heard and we’ve connected with multiple businesses from apps, fashion and food.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

90Centre was started at a PWI a place where black students are often overlooked. The platforms and organizations aims to serve everyone who has a dream.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy has been connecting with people on a personal level. By connecting face to face I have gained a better understanding for what people need. I’ve been able to implement this new knowledge in my marketing strategy and gain new clients.
