We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raxiel Liz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Raxiel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I have two projects that are very meaningful to me, and I am sure others as well. One is a Book I wrote based on self-help and Mental Health called ” Shut the F*ck Up and Love” It is published and available at all retail bookstores like “Barnes and Nobles, Walmart, Book A Million, Amazon, Apple Books and More). There is also an audio version of the book released on all Streaming Platforms like “Apple, Spotify, Google etc…
My 2nd project that is dear to me is a movie based on Mental Health called “Lion in the Sand” which can be watched and streamed on “Amazon, Future Today and OTT platforms.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a film Director/ Actor & Author. I also dabble in music from hip hop, reggaeton & pop music. My passion is honestly all of them lol. I love creating music just as much as I love creating films.
I started with music and that lead to graphics for my cds and album covers etc.. people in the Bronx where I grew up at were charging a lot of money for graphics and studio time. I couldn’t afford it all the time so I started my own studio and learned how to do my own graphics. After a while I ran into the same issue with music videos. People charged too much which I understood it was a business but, cause I couldn’t afford it as a young man it was none of my business lol. So just like music & graphics I learned how to make my own music videos from scratch! That lead me into acting which lead into writing shirt scripts and lead me to also becoming an author.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Well for starters… Consistency! If there is anything you should and need to have it’s that! Don’t start something you are not willing to see through. It doesn’t matter how hard it can get and how negative the situation may appear to be. Stay consistent and don’t allow your mistakes, flaws and loses beat you… learn from them and educate yourself to come back harder and smarter! Learn to decipher hate from constructive feedback but always follow your gut! It’s better to be wrong on your terms then look stupid because you didn’t follow your own gut!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Wow! Something I had to learn, and it took me a while is that your friends and family are your worst supporters! Not saying every single one Ha Ha! but most definitely do not look for validation from friends and family. You need the outside support. That support from the media, them strangers that don’t know you. Once you have that and a solid foundation… All of them friends and family will fall in line and all of a sudden start to support when they see what you were doing actually works!
Side Note: Move in silence. There is no need to tell people what you are doing. Just show them once it’s ready.
