We recently connected with Raw Talent and have shared our conversation below.
Raw , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew at the age of 6 or 7 I wanted to be a an Artist. I started out in church and it went from there with solos in school. Getting roles in plays in elementary / middle school. Then it just became a lot so I took a break from it and went back to playing sports I grew up playing football and basketball so I went to go play college basketball for a bit then when my grandma got sick and passed I went back to music and released my first song in 2020
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into music at a young age I fell in love with the drums and asked my grandma to get me some. I think I fucked up 3 sets of drums before I really learned how to play. Then I started playing in my church. As far as sing me and my sister would always sing in our room together wether it was duets or movies or just randomly singing I had an ear for music and everyone always told me I was good at it and needed to purse it.
When it comes to my music I write my own lyrics to my beats that I find or producers send to me. I used to release when I wanted but now that I’m signed to a label for distribution I can only release when they tell me which kinda sucks but it builds anticipation
As far as being Disciplined it just depends on your work ethic and how bad you want it. Times get hard but I’m just a stepper I can’t quit that’s not in me, I get what I want. I work on my craft as much as I can and I write often unless I’m going through a mental block haha, but that’s what separates me even though I’m not where I want to be I’m keeping consistent.
I try to speak to my fans and followers through my music and I hope to gain new listeners all the time so that’s always the main goal you know is to just be bigger and more know than I was yesterday. Basically keeping a ME VS. ME Mentality and always tryna stay prepared. My brand is coming soon so watch out for my clothing line called GET USE TO IT. It’s gonna be dope !
Being singed to a label and getting a distribution deal is probably the most thing I’m proud of at the moment just because know one else in my clique or that I hang with is is signed and some have been doing it long than me so it says that I have potential and I need to keep going
My end goal with being a successful artist is just to take care of my friends and family that’s always been the goal from the start since I was 6 or 7 but I wanted to do it for my grandma but she passed before I had a chance to really put on and show her was I was capable of so she’s watching over me and I just hope to make her proud of me

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Im not structured. I do what I want and speak / think freely for myself. And that also speaks volume with being an artist you know. Life’s about being free and doing what you want not what you need to do to make ends meet and I feel like that’s why so many people fail to really do what they are good at / find there passion because they get caught in the motion of doing / making some one else’s dream come true, and I’m not really with that like I want to be my own boss and have a team work with me not for me you know ?!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Back in 2020 I was at my lowest. Kept getting in trouble was back in forth between court / jail. After getting out of trouble I had to go back to the basics and reassess my plan / vision with this music and what I wanted in life because it can be stressful you know ?! And I was tired of getting in to trouble it’s just not worth it. Giving it my all, spending all my money, time, and energy trying to basically be known to the world so of course sometimes you have to step back and go back to square one. No that doesn’t mean I was failing but just needed to go back and cover all angles. Deciding if this is for me but everything you do in life comes with trial and error and that’s why it really boils down to how bad do I want it ?!
