We were lucky to catch up with Ravon Ezell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ravon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I take a risk everyday while pursuing rapping. I could easily get an apartment, a nice girlfriend , and start a family . I’m 26 and most of my peers are starting to create families . Then theirs me still pursuing a craft that is a huge gamble in a world where a lot of people do it, A Lot of talented people might I add. I continue to do it because I love it, I know God put me on this earth for this, and I want to be as significant as my muses growing up. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Drake, Micheal Jackson its a lot of more but, you get it.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into my craft because of my family. They play music 24/7. Funk, Rap, Gospel, R&B, Neo Soul, Pop. You name it they play it. Then my summers I spent in of the TV watching BET JAMS all day long if it wasn’t sports I was watching music videos. As well I always loved writing, english was my favorite subject the only subject I cared for. So rhyming words and writing stories just came easy for me. I love entertaining people and making them happy to help forget about their troubles that is happening in their lives, because we all have them
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
To inspire the youth and people in general of the work I put in. IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU. Any field you are in.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Someone relating to me and me helping them get over insecurities they may have in this life.
