We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raven Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Raven , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

Ever since I became self-aware, I’ve been captivated by fashion. As a child, I spent countless hours sketching garments and dreaming of a future in the industry. In 8th grade, I had an incredible art teacher who encouraged our creativity. She allowed us to work on whatever inspired us, and naturally, my focus was always fashion. Noticing my passion, she brought in a Vogue magazine for the class. It was love at first sight. Turning each page filled me with excitement and joy.
Today, fashion remains my greatest source of happiness. Every morning, I wake up thinking about the latest trends, envisioning new outfits with my wardrobe, or planning a photoshoot.

Raven , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Raven Wright CEO of Ravishing Raves LLC. Ravishing Raves is a wardrobe consulting company dedicated to elevating your style. I specialize in curating personalized wardrobes, offering expert styling advice, and assisting with personal shopping to ensure you look and feel your best. My goal is to leave you feeling absolutely ravishing and raving about your new look.

I dove into the industry headfirst, fueled by both excitement and fear. I questioned my acceptance within the community and doubted my abilities. Seeing others who looked like me achieving their dreams was a turning point. I was tired of letting fear hold me back, of not aligning with beauty standards, and of succumbing to imposter syndrome.
I started pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, attending every fashion event in the city and networking with other creatives. In less than two years, I’ve proudly styled six fashion shows and countless editorials.

I’m incredibly proud of me! I built this company from the ground up, all while working a bartender job. Knowing the importance of building a strong portfolio, I creatively sourced garments from thrift stores, local designers, and even my own closet. Transforming simple pieces into stunning looks is a source of immense pride. This is just a glimpse of what I can achieve with a larger budget and greater resources.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

Just support. That’s all it takes. If we all come together for the love of creativity, we can become a powerhouse. Showing up for your local creatives’ art galleries, buying merchandise, and sharing/liking new posts are all ways to support each other.

Bartering services is an amazing way to support creatives in the fashion industry. As a wardrobe stylist, I’d often collaborate with models, photographers, makeup artists, and hairstylists on projects. Everyone plays a crucial role in achieving the perfect shot.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Clothing is driving my journey. Being able to access the garments I’ve dreamed of, like Mugler, Givenchy, Chanel, and Valentino, would be a major milestone. Mugler, in particular, has been a favorite brand of mine since childhood. I’d love to work for them or even incorporate some of their iconic pieces from over the decades into my work.
