We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raven Temple. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raven below.
Alright, Raven thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?
The more Farm to Temple begins to scale, the more I truly understand how important it is to build a solid team. In the beginning, I did everything completely solo- which was fine given I had barely a handful of clients.
However once I decided that I wanted Farm to Temple to become something much bigger, the clientele grew and I knew I would have to grow my team as well.
The hiring and management process is definitely a learning curve, however through trial and error, I have built a solid team that gives their all on meal prep day. It would be literally impossible to grow at the rate in which we are, without everyone on my team.
Because of that, I am constantly growing in the management areas, and making sure that I am fair, respectful and always show my team how valuable they are to the company.
Raven, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I originally started Farm To Temple back in 2015, when I noticed the lack of healthy, quality, delicious food in Baltimore City.
Having worked both back of the house and front of the house restaurant positions for over 10 years, as well as having a Masters Degree in Nutrition…food has always been a big part of my life!
My mission for Farm to Temple is to show people in my community that you can eat clean and healthy, at a reasonable price without compromising flavor.
Our meals are perfect for working people, college students, those on a new healthy lifestyle journey & busy professionals. Unlike other meal prep companies, our meals are never frozen, prepared in a local kitchen in Baltimore, with many ingredients sourced from the area!
My Culinary Background is vast, so the menu will always rotate giving you a variety of choices. However what you can always expect is delicious, healthy & scratch kitchen food.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Consistency in posting on social media. Following through with what we say we are going to do. Constantly evaluating the customer experience to ensure we are offering the best product/service possible.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
We utilize social media and email marketing as our main way to keep in touch with clients. Our menus, sales, updates and even “suggestion boxes” are primarily done via Instagram or email.
We also have a live chat option on our website for immediate contact.
