Raven, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I’m really grateful to be an artist, i think i was born to be an artist and as i’ve grown and learned to love myself i really appreciate all art is for me in deeper way. i love it,
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an Abstract Oil Painter. My works focuses on meditation revelations and my subconscious spaces. I articulate my findings of the high intensity interconnectivity that is life and reality through my abstractions. I contemplate humanity and interpersonal dynamics in my figurative work and tend to play in the enmeshment of subject, space, and dimensionality. I create work to honor my incarnation, the gift of life, and the oneness of all life.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I went to an Art School with particular views, I learned things there that hindered my practice and created fear within me about creating. I have appreciation for Art as Activism but I have grown to disagree that it is the sole responsibility of artists. I think artists are meant to be authentically themselves, through the process that is self-discovery and enlightenment their creations are messages from the divine to humans in form we can recognize. Artwork does not always require dissertations and the truer the expression the greater the affect and to me that is what art is about; expression. I believe in freedom and expression, that is what I strive to emulate in my own practice.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I believe that authenticity is the access point to TRUTH within the self. I believe every individual has the ability to liberate themself from limitations that keep them from presence, peace, and the inner power that is their life source energy. I find that by being myself and creating my artwork I am leading by example of being oneself and being one with my self. I believe the honoring of my incarnation honors GOD and I create and live as my devotion to the ONE that created all. The ONE that is all. We are all fractals of GOD and I hope that through my personal devotion I can illuminate to others what it’s all about. Love.
