Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raven Richards. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Raven, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I have a 9 to 5 job in the finance & tax department of a company that has been the best company I’ve worked for so far as well as being a music artist right now. I have pursued my music and modeling career without a job for years but I do see the benefit of being able to invest more into my art from the funds I earn from my job. Having a regular job has allowed me to have the resources and freedom to not feel as pressured to provide for myself while still investing into my art career and other business endeavors. I’ve worked a number of jobs since I was 14 years old so I’m no stranger to working lol.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am signer songwriter Raven Richards. I sing all genres from house to rock and roll and hip hop. I often create my beats for my songs as well and love collaborating with others. I always loved music, performing, and expressing myself creatively. I love marketing products as well. I successfully modeled for 7 years in the fashion, commercial, and figure modeling industries where I learned a lot about performing and the entertainment industry. I’ve done some acting as well. I provide singing, songwriting, performing, and voice over services to my clients and venues. When a fellow artist needs a jazzy or hip hop style chorus that sounds new and fresh or challenging that evokes passion and feelings they call me. I’m very authentic, original, and love creating from scratch. I’m very easy to work with, open to new ideas, and fun to work with because as long as the song is getting done I feel we are doing meaningful wonderful work no matter how the final product turns out. I believe I help challenge artist to expand their horizons and taste.
I am most proud of my music catalog and performances I have done so far. It took me so many years, so much patience, perseverance, and finding the right people to help me bring my ideas to life.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I organically have been building my audience through sharing my social media handles in person after my performances, sharing content, singing and modeling on other users and artist platforms, handing out business cards, and paying for campaigns online to gain new fans.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Seeing my ideas come to life and finding the right team members to help me create, carry out my goals, and help me know where to invest and spend financially is so rewarding.
