We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raven Cheadle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Raven thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Quality control is a challenge almost every entrepreneur has had to focus on when growing – any advice, stories or insight around how to best ensure quality is maintained as your business scales?
My mother always emphasized that quality was more important than quantity. I remember being a little girl and watching her shop—she never went for the cheapest or the fastest option just to get something done quickly. Instead, she invested in things that would last, teaching me that when you take shortcuts, you often end up spending more in the long run because you have to go back and fix or replace what didn’t last. That lesson stuck with me in everything I do, from content creation to my beauty business.
When it comes to my content, I focus on creating high-quality, meaningful work that truly reaches the right audience rather than just putting out content for the sake of being seen. I believe that quality attracts longevity—it builds trust and connection. In my beauty business, I apply the same principle by using top-tier products and providing an experience that keeps clients coming back. It’s not just about a one-time service; it’s about creating a cycle where people return because they know they’ll get the best.
I think quality is something that’s lacking in today’s fast-paced culture. Everyone wants things to be “microwavable” and instant, but some things need time to cook. Success built on quality may take longer, but it lasts longer too. My advice to anyone concerned with maintaining quality control is to always make quality the priority. Without it, you may get a quick sale, but you won’t get returning customers. And in business, recyclable dollars—money that consistently flows back to you—are the key to long-term success.

Raven, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a multi-passionate creative and entrepreneur, deeply rooted in the beauty industry and content creation. I’ve been running my lash business for the last five years, but my journey with content creation has been ongoing for eight. My work revolves around romanticizing life and prioritizing self-care while still handling business—because I truly believe that when you take care of yourself first, you show up better in every other aspect of life.
My journey in beauty started early. I attended cosmetology school during high school and began working in a beauty shop at just 16. I’ve always loved the art of making women feel beautiful, but it wasn’t until 2019 that I discovered my passion for lash and brow enhancements. By 2020, I turned that passion into a business, and I’ve been dedicated to providing high-quality, confidence-boosting services ever since.
What sets me apart in both my beauty business and content creation is my approach—I don’t just focus on aesthetics, I focus on the experience. Whether it’s a lash appointment or a video about curating a peaceful morning routine, my goal is to encourage women to pour into themselves first. I’ve learned that when I take care of myself, I show up as my best self for my clients, and in turn, they leave feeling empowered to do the same for themselves and those around them. It’s a ripple effect.
One of my proudest achievements is being a mother to a beautiful teenager and instilling strong values in her. It means everything to me to lead by example—not just for her, but for the women who engage with my business and content. Seeing a 60-year-old woman ask me about the products I use because she wants to start prioritizing self-care is a reminder that my work is bigger than me. Age doesn’t limit self-care, and I love that my influence reaches women across generations.
For potential clients, followers, or brands looking to connect, know that everything I create is rooted in quality, intention, and the belief that taking care of yourself isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. Whether through my beauty services or my content, I want to inspire others to build a life that nurtures them rather than drains them.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Resilience and adaptability are essential in any business, but the beauty industry, in particular, has its highs and lows. Over the last couple of years, I’ve experienced firsthand how unpredictable this industry can be—one month, bookings are full, and the next, things slow down drastically. It can be mentally and emotionally exhausting, especially when financial stability feels uncertain.
During these trying times, I’ve had to pivot my mindset just as much as my business strategies. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that God is always in control. No matter what the economy looks like, no matter how many appointments I have on the books, I have to trust that He will provide. And He always has.
I’ve had moments where I didn’t know how things would work out, but each time, a door opened—a returning client, a last-minute booking, an opportunity I wasn’t expecting. This journey has reinforced my belief that when you’re walking in your purpose, provision follows.
That faith has been my anchor, allowing me to push forward even in uncertainty. Instead of dwelling on slow periods, I’ve used them to refine my skills, enhance my services, and build deeper relationships with my clients. I’ve also diversified my business by integrating content creation, which has allowed me to reach and inspire more women beyond just my local clientele.
At the end of the day, resilience in business isn’t just about strategy—it’s about mindset and faith. Trusting in God’s timing and provision has been the key to my ability to keep going, no matter what challenges come my way.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my social media presence for my business by starting with my local network. I marketed my lash services on Facebook, targeting friends, family, and local groups, and I launched with a crazy discount for the first 10 people who booked with me. That initial push not only got people in the door, but it also helped spread the word. From there, I continued promoting my business across multiple platforms, always making sure I was reaching the right audience in my area.
For content creation, my growth came from consistency. Posting regularly allowed me to build a community, and I quickly learned that engagement is just as important as the content itself. The more I posted, the more I connected with people through comments, shares, and direct conversations. Some platforms grew faster than others, but I never focused on the speed—just the quality of the connections.
The key to growing on social media is interaction. It’s not just about putting content out there; it’s about building relationships. If you create content that resonates and take the time to engage with your audience, your presence will grow naturally. Whether it’s my lash business or lifestyle content, my focus has always been on providing value and making real connections.
