We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raveen Simmonds . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raveen below.
Raveen , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed
In life we often take on way too much than we can actually bare, because I was thinking with my heart and I over looked the reality of things . We’re only 6 months into this year and I took a loss every month so far. I know you guys are probably wondering what I meant when I said ” I was thinking with my heart” here’s how I put everything and everyone before me. I take everyone else’s problem and make them mine, so imagine having my problems on top of everyone else’s. When I face hardships or I get to a very weak point, I have to pull myself out of the mud alone. There are times where I will get so many inquires about my business but I will just stare at them not responding because I was so discouraged and drained with my own personal problems, it was keeping me back from what I loved to do . The inquires started to decrease I wasn’t promoting like I normally do and of course you can’t count on anyone to put your name out there but you. I’m not sure if I should call this a “failure”or “The Lesson” but I can say loss after loss woke up the beast. The next 6 months will be totally different from the start. Just some advice to others put yourself first, focus on your goals and what’s needed for you, take as many mental breaks as needed just take care of you. Remember the name ” THE FACE DOCTOR LLC

Raveen , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who don’t know my name is Raveen I’m 27 years young very ambitious, a mom to a 10 year old, I.m currently In my last semester of nursing school, one of the best thing I ever put myself into. To piggy back on my last story why I got into the industry, I was having really bad break outs spent hundreds of dollars on store brought products and nothing worked for my type of skin. I decided to make my own products after changing, adding, and removing ingredients I found something that worked and I kind of took off from there. I specailize in skin care&facials I do vagacials, back, chest,& chemical peels. I also service men and women I can fix almost anything I put my hands on . My name pretty much speaks for it’s self!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation is the fact that I took my time out to make sure my products work& my services are effective instead of just putting it out there to make money . I have a passion for fixing skin and I will go above and beyond it’s never about the money this what I love so I will protect my brand at all cost.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn having a good heart, It can be a blessing and a curse and me having the heart I have put me in way more disappointing situations than good. Good-hearted people sometimes make the mistake of thinking, “I would never do that or think that…so why would you?” But when you project your goodness onto another, you are at risk of overlooking some glaring warning signs that this person has issues. You don’t have to become a cynic; but believing that others share your same heart and outlook can be dangerous and ultimately lead to repeated heartbreak. `I give too many second chances and I.m just done with overlooking.
