We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raul Moreno a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Raul, thanks for joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
Currently, I help out at my family’s trucking business. Working on cars such as fixing damages on cars, running errands, keeping the shop clean. The family business involves semi-trucks and a wrecking auto parts shop (AKA JUNK YARD) coming from a passionate creator I am more than happy to be where I am at. Of course, I wonder if I’ll have a stable job in the graphic industry. as much I wonder I tend to work harder than to wonder off in the could Of’s, what ifs and the maybes. At this point in my career, I’m still striving to land a job its hard, but I know the hard work will get me further sooner than later. Most of the opportunities that open are more based on hard work than luck.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Going to kick it off with introducing myself. My name is Raul Moreno I’m currently 24 years old and live in Modesto California. I faced many challenges since birth being born with a medical condition Called XLP2 (X-Linked Lymphoproliferative). Symptoms and Other Problems of XLP2 include Swollen lymph nodes (glands in the neck, under the arm or in the groin), Enlarged liver, spleen. heart, kidney damage. Fevers. Skin rashes. Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin) Bone marrow problems.
This condition is rare affecting about one in five million males and may occasionally affect females. According to my medical team due to the fact that I was born with XLP2 I was fortunate to save approximately two hundred thousand patients’ lives all thanks to the studies done during my life span. I don’t regret my experience because it’s a blessing in disguise as well a hard flex to literally say I saved so many lives.
My dream is to create a successful business using my talent. I have this enormous passion for editing in general, over the years I been working on my passion trying to master the basic and the dilemma’s that come with it. I’ve done several projects, logos, videos, designs and photo shoots for small local businesses and for entertainment. My family has encouraged me to continue with my passion, I decided that I want to pursue my passion along with establishing a film production company such as Universal Studios, Lucas Films, Sony Pictures, and Dream Works Studios.
I got into arts at a young age, and I have been into arts regardless of the style of the art but the art that has always drawn my attention has been realism, few of my family members have art skills or have some tech savvy skills, I would always watch them fix technical problems or impress the family with art skills including myself I would always be impressed. I became too impressed that my curiosity got the best of me one time.
As a kid I had a Galaxy Tablet 3 where I came across an app called Pix Art. Once the app downloaded, I would play around to catch a feel for the app, Months passed by when this one time in Middle school during my lunch break while working on a design some kid peak over my shoulder and said “Wow! that is a really cool design.” I said “thanks” and continued designing. I guess the kid never took his eyes off the design because he later offered me a bag of chips in exchange for a design. The deal was made his requested design as well, which was his name in a funky font with a dirty bike of his dreams in the background. Seeing the kid’s reaction to his personal design was priceless even though it wasn’t instant success it was a step towards the right direction. Since that day forward I started to practice more graphic designing with each design looking different than the others.
Apps on my tablet slowly converted into programs on my computer and now my computer is becoming an extension of my body and mind all at once. I create art to express myself since words can only be expressed to a certain extent. Some art works have caught the attention of musical artist, local business, schools and bands. Around 2020-2021 I was invited to Los Angeles to network, collaborate, and create with other creators. Thanks to a good friend of mine named Nevin Shoker who also goes by the stage name Ibeshocker, we are both from the same town which made it easier for both of us to understand each other. Around those years I had no business to be in Los Angeles but because of Nevin I was able to collaborate with other creators and expand my audience from local to industrial. Yes, my art changed when my audience changed for a while photography was in high demand when I was local then when I began in the industry graphic design is in higher demand luckily for me it became an advantage since, I always specialized in graphic design.
I found 24 productions with the intentions to provide an affordable service consisting of photography, logos, restorations, illustrations and composting images. I would like to introduce 24 productions a new, modern, and interesting way of photographing. I do freelance photography with a twist of course composting photos are optional. founded on May 31st, 2018, in Modesto California. While I was photographing, I recognized a need for change among the photography industry and decided to produce photos of my own. My talent, passion, and dedication towards photography led me to produce outstanding work as I strive for satisfaction in each of my projects. I held responsible for customers satisfaction, content quality, and performance I want to make a positive impact on customers experiences. At the local level and international level. It’s always important with a high level of realism in my work. I want the viewer to feel like they are part of the scene. Although my work consists of a lot of work in post-production and combining photographs I always try to capture as much as possible in camera on location. It often means building props and using creative ways of planning the shoot. Light and perspective are crucial parts when combining images in a realistic way and if some parts are not possible to shoot on location, a similar scene has to be built up in a controlled environment. Having an understanding every step from idea and planning, photography and postproduction is very important to make everything come together seamlessly. Every photograph and part have its purpose. I do all the postproduction myself to be in complete control of the end result. The idea, photography and postproduction are all connected. The final image doesn’t become better than the photographs used to capture it. Just like the photographs doesn’t become stronger than the idea.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
In my opinion the most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing your work being used and being memorable in a positive way, for example I did my family’s trucking business logo. All semi-trucks have the logos attached to them and that logo is really recognizable in the trucking industry that it is commonly talked about.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Something that non creatives will struggle to understand is trying to understand how to use software’s and how to navigate in the industry. Some think it’s a waste of time or its false career, when I hear someone say it’s a false career, I tell them look at your phone it was someone’s job to create a wireless phone that contains internet service, send text messages instantly, call anywhere at any time. The social media content you consume is someone’s job to keep you entertained when your board or want to escape reality for a few seconds. Once I point out the obvious then they start to change perspectives
