Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rasheed Hamid. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rasheed, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Extra Hands really came from my own experience. Back when I was managing in hospitality, I was used to juggling a lot — operations, staffing, service, you name it. And when I started running my own projects, I realized I was doing the exact same thing: wearing every hat, trying to hold everything together, and burning out in the process.
That’s when it clicked. I wasn’t the only one struggling with that. So many entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders were facing the same thing — trying to scale without the right support system. Coming from hospitality, I’ve always believed great service is about anticipation and structure, so I built Extra Hands with that in mind.
It started as me trying to fix my own problem, and it turned into something much bigger — a company that helps others reclaim their time, streamline their operations, and grow with confidence.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve spent most of my career in hospitality — managing teams, running five-star operations, and learning how to create systems that make great service repeatable. That world taught me that success always comes down to two things: people and structure. You can’t scale anything lasting without both.
When I started Extra Hands Virtual Assistants, it came from that same belief — and from living the struggle myself. I was wearing every hat, trying to do everything, and realized I wasn’t the only one. So many entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders were burning out, not because they lacked vision, but because they lacked support systems that could grow with them. That’s what Extra Hands was built to solve: we help founders reclaim their time and strengthen their operations through high-touch virtual assistance, smart systems, and automation that actually works for humans.
And now, we’re building something I’m really proud of — the Accelerator Academy, launching in early 2026. It’s a program designed to train and empower the next generation of world-class Virtual Assistants — professionals who don’t just execute tasks but think strategically, understand client outcomes, and know how to integrate technology into their work. The goal is to raise the standard for what it means to be a VA today: strategic, proactive, and system-minded.
To me, that’s the full circle — creating solutions for business owners and building the people who will power those solutions. That’s what I’m most proud of: knowing that what we’re building at Extra Hands doesn’t just help businesses run better — it helps people grow into their best version, too.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I first started building Extra Hands, I was doing everything myself — from client work to social media, marketing, and operations. Like most founders, I thought no one could tell my story better than me. But the truth is, trying to do it all limited my reach and consistency.
The real shift happened when I decided to delegate. I brought in a dedicated social media strategist, Orlando Moreno, who now leads our brand and digital strategy. That decision changed everything. He helped me see social media not as a task, but as a system — one that requires storytelling, rhythm, and authenticity. I also learned to be open to the process, showing up on camera, recording content, and letting my voice and personality come through.
My biggest advice to any founder is this: you don’t need to be perfect; you just need to be present. Be willing to learn, trust experts, and treat your social media as an extension of your mission. When you lead with value and consistency, the right audience will find you.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for us has always been relationship-building and collaboration. Instead of chasing trends, we focus on partnerships that align with our mission — working with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and organizations that value structure, integrity, and human connection.
Social media has also played a big role in that growth. It allows us to build trust and show the real impact of what we do — helping people see that Extra Hands isn’t just a service, it’s a system for growth. Every new partnership starts with a conversation about how we can help people work smarter, not harder.
And as we continue to grow, that same foundation of connection is what’s fueling our next big step — the launch of the Accelerator Academy in 2026, where we’ll train and empower future VAs to deliver that same level of excellence and strategy to more clients worldwide.
