We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rashee Gupta. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rashee below.
Rashee, appreciate you joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
It was until a year and a couple months into starting social media that I started making money from my blog, Instagram, and from appearances. With TikTok (my cooking page that is) I had my first ad and paid collaboration within a couple months (I think that is because times and platforms had changed significantly). Since then I have worked with thousands of companies on hundreds of campaigns also traveling for many projects and I have indeed been able to make a full-time living from my creative work. That has been such a blessing and incredibly helpful in maintaining work life balance.
I think it all has been a journey and each moment and milestone has lead me to where I am today so I wouldn’t go back and change anything or wish I did something differently. I am here today and I have gotten better at my craft because I have learned and grown from past work.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Rashee Gupta and I have always had a love for all things fashion and beauty. Sometime after college I became a makeup artist in Chicago doing mostly bridal makeup and teaching makeup classes. In 2016, I got married and moved to San Francisco, California. I had also been working a corporate job which I had to leave so I had a break in my career. During my break I started writing about various fashion and beauty topics and began posting photos and videos on Instagram. One thing lead to another and MrsGuptaSquared grew tremendously and became well known and the go to for all things fashion and beauty. In 2017 I started my own makeup and skincare line but sold the company in 2021. In 2021 I started a cooking page on TikTok, @cookingwithrashee to further share my daily life and kitchen. That also I did not expect to take off running but here we are today 102,000 followers and 1000+ videos later.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is when I have people leave comments and send me messages, emails, DMS, etc It shows and reassures me I am doing something worthwhile and people are really watching, engaging, learning, and benefiting from my content, what I have to say, and what I share.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started my Instagram and Blog at a really good time to be honest. It was when everything was new and this sort of digital creator job and role was beginning to boom thus I was able to grow my following quickly across different social media sites. I do advise anyone looking to get into being a digital content creator or starting a blog is just to start posting. Do not get discouraged by views or likes or minimal engagement. That will all come as long as you are being yourself and sharing what you love and are passionate about.
