We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rashad Bailey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rashad below.
Alright, Rashad thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy is that my photography impacted people’s lives. My company name triple L photography stands for Life Love Legacy but my priority when working with clients is to capture their legacy during their photo shoot. Knowing these photos will be remembered for the rest of their life is so important to me. These images will be passed on from generations that their loved ones will always remember there legacy
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started photography by taking a college class and fell in love with it and never looked back. I started off and turning for a local magazine in St Louis which gave me a lot of experience and event photography and nightlife photography and networking. at this moment currently I’m working on engagements and wedding photography what sets me apart from other photographers is my storytelling for my photo shoots. I want future clients to know that I love photography and I love to collaborate and get ideas and work together with my clients to capture their goals for their photo shoot
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
a story of my resilience is never giving up always thinking of new opportunities and new ways to promote your business or pivoting to different genres of your business I started off with fashion photography working with fashion designers for events unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I expected so I transition to engagements in weddings found that joy and that I’m telling a story with two people that want to spend the rest of their lives with each other I think a really benefited me and gives me the opportunity of really telling a story. also I can say not needing anyone else’s validation of your work of any other peers keep following your dreams and goal and as long as you have a great relationship with your clients I feel like that’s the only thing that really matters at the end of the day. never give up and keep grinding
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was to stop seeking the validation of others what I really needed to do with that moment was to only believe in myself because my clients are depending on me during their photo shoot. Believing in yourself will take you on a journeyand that’s why we each client that you gain should build your confidence as a creative as a business owner or even a photographer
