We were lucky to catch up with Raphnee Manning recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Raphnee, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

The vision of Reliant Management is to help EVERYONE reclaim patient care. What that means for us is that we empower others with healthcare reimbursement knowledge to alleviate the pressures associated with payment of your care. For providers, we provide revenue cycle management services so the focus can be on actual patient care. For individuals, we provide health insurance consulting to minimize the desire to avoid care in fear of extensive medical bills.

Reliant Management is a great combination of my analytical problem solving skills, my desire to help others, and my gift to educate. While in various roles, I constantly saw a disconnect between value-based care and reimbursement. I wanted to leverage my clinical expertise, personal background, and revenue cycle knowledge to improve patient care.

While the original motivation was to improve patient care via maximizing providers’ reimbursement, it has transformed into something much more. While in the community, I would constantly get questions about insurance policies, claims, etc. My ability to explain someone’s bill and/or claim(s), and bridge the gap between the patient, provider, and insurance led to the expansion of Reliant Management, providing health insurance consulting. We are able to not only help you find a policy that fits your healthcare needs, but we go beyond the basic agent role. We are able to help you all along the way with claims review , medical bill review, and policy review with a deeper understanding than the basic sell of a policy.

What excites me most about Reliant Management is the EMPOWERMENT. The idea of Reliant Management is visible through the knowledge we provide and knowledge is POWER!!!

Raphnee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Reliant Management offers revenue cycle management services for providers. Medical billing services range from one phase of the revenue cycle (individual services such as charge capture, insurance verification, patient collection, etc.) to all phases of the revenue cycle (provide all medical billing needs). With our revenue cycle consulting services, we evaluate your revenue cycle processes and assist in implementation of more efficient processes. We also offer billing/office management to help address in-house deficits and challenges to improve operational workflows.

Our health insurance consulting services for individuals allows us to go beyond just enrolling individuals into a policy. With our deeper understanding of health insurance and revenue cycle background, we are able to help you and your family find coverage that works for you and your healthcare needs. And we do not stop there, we provide claims review and medical bill analysis when you enroll with us.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

A major pivot for me was the decision to go full-time into my business. It was a shift in every aspect of the word. It forced me to shift my mindset and allowed me to grow as a person and as a business. The decision came at a time when everything was “falling apart,” at least in my mind. The decision, in hindsight, was not mine. If I had a choice, I would’ve still been working a 9-5 until Reliant was “where I wanted it to be.” But my circumstances forced me to put all my focus into the growth of Reliant Management. And as everything is coming together, I now see that God always has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11) and that it works out for my good (Romans 8:28).

What helped build my reputation within my market is my unique combination of expertise and my sincerity. Not only am I able to “back” what I’m saying through my knowledge and skills, but my passion and vision for Reliant Management is expressed in every interaction.
