We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raoul Peter Mongilardi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raoul Peter below.
Raoul Peter, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
There is really nothing so wonderful as creating. For example, during this difficult time of the strike, it was empowering and comforting and actually felt fantastic to sit down and compose a novella on a deadline. When I finished it I was proud to read it and know that has a place in my slate and portfolio.
As far as wondering what it would be like to have a “regular job” I think working as a creative is in essence a “regular” experience in that it is a natural expression of being alive. But not to skirt the question, I have worked in other areas, in physical production and as an estate manager, the latter is a book in itself!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My godfather was the famous producer, Sam Spiegel and his fabulous wife, Betty, was my “Auntie Mame” so I was touched and inspired by films from a young age. My mother was also a jazz and blues singer and my family life was rich with music, art, theatre and I was creating and writing as long as I can remember. When I came to Hollywood I worked at The Geffen Playhouse, Universal, Paramount TV, Disney Imagineering and for many inde producers and some A list talent as well as European royalty.
My colleagues and I provide riveting, multi-genre content, and presentation creation A-Z. We have contacts in financing, acquisitions, development, and we are connected globally.
We are always excited to hear from people and to see if we can explore a conversation and possible collaboration.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven and fueled by passion and the pure love of creation and realizing artistic pursuits, whether it is novels, novellas, scripts, decks, films, series, documentaries –it is all bread and wine to me.
The goal remains to conceive, create and distribute the best work I can. Seeing people inspired by my work is the ultimate testament and is nourishing, like applause when it washes over the stage.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
We should support all creatives and teachers, and see to it that kids can receive arts education as part of and integral to the curriculum because it is proven that arts in education is a powerful, and positive model.
National endowments for arts should be increased, not lessened. What we have now are more potential platforms than ever before for writers, filmmakers, and artists of every discipline, and that is marvelous.
