We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Randy Mcknight. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Randy below.
Randy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think in order to be successful, you have to take risk. Risk maybe scary but I’ve learned that when you don’t risk, you may never know the outcome. Putting yourself out there, putting your best foot forward in any situation or opportunity that comes your way is the key to being successful. To be successful you can’t be lazy and expect it to fall in your lap. You have to get up and put in the work.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Randy McKnight and I’m from Marion South Carolina. I own a fashion styling and creative directing business. I’ve always had a love for fashion, my family and friends would always come to me for advice and ask me to help them put their outfits together. The more I started doing that, the more I fell in love with it. One day I decided to take it more seriously. I started studying and really learning about the fashion industry as a whole. My brand is called Styled by Randy Lee. My business offers, fashion styling, film/tv costuming, closet revamping/organizing, editorial styling, fashion consulting, fashion designing and creative directing. The problems I solve for my clients are helping them realize that they don’t have to break the bank to look great. Also helping them comfortably embrace change and allowing them to enhance their sense of style. Some people feel they can’t wear certain stuff due to their bodies or maybe personal insecurities. I always help clients dive into those deep rooted feelings and help their true self shine through. What I am most proud of when it comes to my business is , allowing myself to push past my fears when it comes to my craft. I had the opportunity to work with/ style some of television most iconic actors and actresses. I am also proud of the growth of my brand. I’ve designed a few original pieces and even had them brought to life. I’ve recently celebrated 7 full years of business. Along with my clientele growth and growth as a business man has all been very proud moments for me.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I treat my clients like family, I always make my clients experience with me more then a money transaction. I reach out to them on holidays, birthdays. I even reach out to them randomly to check in and see how they are doing. Building relationships is always key. If you are loyal to your clients they will always be loyal to you.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped me build my reputation is always being consistent with what I do and who I am. I am known for stepping out of the box and being different when it comes to fashion. I love taking risk and being that one that will try different things style wise. I think I’m most known for my consistent work ethic, and for my all around uniqueness. I believe marketing is a strong tool, it can help you reach places you think you can’t. You just have to figure out what works best for you and always stay true to yourself no matter what.
