Naima Naturals is a wellness company that specializes in plant-based body care products and wellness services like yoga. In 2017, I encountered several health problems that led me to create products that could benefit not only myself but also others who were on the same wellness journey. I came to appreciate the power of natural remedies and devoted myself to a holistic lifestyle that prioritized my health. The products I created were plant-based and aimed to provide the body, mind, and soul with natural relief. This experience was instrumental in inspiring me to become a certified 200-hour yoga instructor in 2019, which helped me to remain optimistic. Through yoga, I learned the importance of perseverance and moving forward, even when faced with difficulties. I’m committed to providing a holistic approach to everyday life and wellness with my products and services.

I entered the wellness industry after battling chronic illness. In 2017, I faced multiple health challenges, which motivated me to develop products that could aid both myself and others on their wellness journeys. This experience led me to value the efficacy of natural remedies and commit to a holistic lifestyle focused on well-being. Initially, my wellness pursuit stemmed from a desire to alleviate constant pain and reduce reliance on medications. Eventually, it evolved into a complete lifestyle transformation. Naima Naturals offers plant-based skincare essentials for daily use, such as skin care items, muscle oils, soaks, balms, herbal blends, and nasal inhalers. Our holistic services encompass yoga, mobility services, prenatal and doula care, and postpartum care meal preparation, promoting a comprehensive approach to daily well-being. Naima Naturals addresses the challenge women face in finding affordable, high-quality, and genuinely natural products. With the increasing awareness of skincare ingredients, we emphasize the significance of offering natural alternatives that are gentle on the body. Our aim is to make yoga more approachable for those intimidated by its perceived difficulty or potential discomfort. What distinguishes Naima Naturals is my firsthand understanding of the struggles associated with illness and fixed mindsets. We believe in the transformative power of changing our perspectives to positively impact our lives.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I launched Naima Naturals through bootstrapping. During the early days of the pandemic, I worked night shifts at a hospital and allocated all extra earnings towards laying the foundation of my business. I started making fresh pressed juices for others and gifting them products, which led to them wanting more products than juices. By working overtime, cutting costs, and investing a few hundred dollars from each paycheck, I slowly built up my product line, website, and essential business elements. Starting with the basics, I took a step-by-step approach, investing in the core structure of Naima Naturals.

Embarking on Naima Naturals showcases a great deal of resilience. As the first entrepreneur in my family, I lacked financial knowledge and had limited understanding of business operations. I began connecting with local women’s wellness businesses, participated in courses and groups to enhance my business skills, and focused on improving my financial situation. Through this journey, I gained valuable insights into financial matters and shifted my mindset about money. I appreciate the decision to invest in learning new things. Despite many changes, starting Naima Naturals has brought numerous blessings.
