We recently connected with Randeep and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Randeep, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Looking back, the spark was always there — I used to edit photos and audio back in high school just out of curiosity and joy. I didn’t fully understand where it was leading at the time, so I took the more “practical” route and studied IT, thinking it made sense since I was good with technology. But that path left me completely drained — no fulfillment, no excitement. The day I decided to pursue audio engineering was the first time I felt a sense of inner relief. From there, I naturally picked up photography and videography, and each step in that direction felt more aligned, more fulfilling. That’s when I knew — this wasn’t just a phase. It was the path I was always meant to be on.
Randeep, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Randeep Nagi — a filmmaker, director, editor, colorist, and content producer. My creative path began with photo and audio editing in high school and gradually evolved into a deeper pursuit of filmmaking, where I discovered the fulfillment of visual storytelling.
Today, I work across a range of formats — from short films and branded content to photography and post-production. My services include directing, editing, color grading, photography, and creative production. What clients often value is my ability to shape cinematic stories with visual depth and emotional clarity — whether I’m behind the camera or in the edit suite.
I tend to approach each project with intention and personal involvement from start to finish. I enjoy creating atmospheres and emotions through production design and color, which I feel brings character to my work. One of my short films, ENVY, received recognition through a few awards, nominations, and official selections at international film festivals — something I’m quietly proud of and grateful for.
Ultimately, my focus remains on telling honest, meaningful stories — whether for a client, a cause, or my own creative expression. I aim to bring integrity, aesthetic detail, and emotional resonance into every frame.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely. At the core of my creative journey is a desire to explore the human condition — to reflect the emotional complexities, inner conflicts, and subtle truths that often go unnoticed. I’m drawn to stories that reveal the layers beneath envy, insecurity, or loneliness — not for the sake of drama, but to create a mirror for introspection. I believe storytelling, when done sincerely, can bring people closer to understanding themselves and others.
My mission is to create cinematic experiences that are emotionally resonant, visually immersive, and grounded in real-life psychology. Whether it’s through directing, editing, or color grading, I want my work to carry intention — to make the viewer feel something lasting, even if it’s uncomfortable or quiet.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, it’s the quiet impact — when someone watches a piece I’ve created and tells me it made them feel understood, seen, or reflective. That kind of response means more than numbers or metrics ever could.
The process itself — shaping raw emotion through visual language, finding rhythm in the edit, or discovering meaning in stillness — is incredibly fulfilling. I’ve come to realize that being an artist isn’t just about expressing something outward, but also about listening inward.
It’s rewarding when the final work feels honest — when I know I’ve been true to the story, even if it’s imperfect. That alignment between purpose and output is what keeps me going.
