We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Randall Sherrell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Randall thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
The Achievement Institute’s fundamental purpose is to provide both challenging and rewarding exposure and experiences by providing educational opportunities and scholarships to talented male students. TAI also aims to provide exposure to professional and career opportunities that can be of interest to the young men in the program.
Randall, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
A strategic leader develops and leads organizations and individual professionals while driving business profits and success—creating marked returns through process refinement and innovation.
Dynamic and pressure-tested problem solver, utilizing varied analytical skills which have garnered a reputation as an expert in out-of-the-box thinking. Positively influence earnings and persuasively communicate within various environments and audiences; supplementary skills in marketing, technology, and project management further afford the capability to be an asset to virtually any organizational structure.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Several Life Lessons I Have Learned. Mentors are important I have several in various industries
Moves are to be made and never announced
Transparency, Honesty, and Vulnerability will change your circle
Rationalize before emotionalizing
Have you ever had to pivot?
During my career, I pivot daily and learn to flow with God’s expectations, not mine. Earlier in my career, I had to learn it not about the title. I had to learn to take a different approach, there are two things that the most important people in your life will remember your date of entry and your date of departure. It’s not about the title it’s about what you do with the (-) dash in the middle that makes the difference and will humble you to care and learn that learning to pivot daily will limit personal stress.
