Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rana Coleman . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Rana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

The story behind my mission is simple chances and inclusion. I’ve been in the legal industry for over a decade now and a common theme that saw throughout the various firms and cooperations I worked for and the different roles I held was the lack of diversity and the lack of opportunity given to diverse candidates.. I grew tired of seeing this and took matters into my own hands and launched the first division of my firm the staffing division RSColeman and Associates Staffing LLC in February 2022.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I knew from a very young age I would practice law and be in the legal industry I graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with my BA in Legal Administration as well as my law degree. I started RSColeman and Associates Staffing LLC after seeing a need for diversity in the legal industry across the board. Our platform allows firms and cooperations who are sincere in their diverse hiring efforts to find diverse candidates whether your looking for a attorney legal secretary or a law student to clerk for you we have someone available.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I have funded everything for my business out of pocket. It definitely has not been easy but it has been worth in doing so I’ve been able to open new doors make new connections and now soon we’ll be offering new services.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I always like to shut out the noise and listen to myself reminding myself why I started this journey to begin with it helps me remember that the purpose and impact is much bigger than me.
