Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ramzeez Reed. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ramzeez, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I feel that I am on a path to eventually being able to make a full-time living off of my creative work due to the amount I know about so many different creative fields. I had digital art classes in high school and I’ve been modeling, as well as making music videos, producing music, making YouTube thumbnails, and content creating in general for well over 5 years at this point and these large chunks of experience that I have in all of these areas are slowly coming together to form a whole. When it is all together, I feel that It will be more than enough to get to that point.

Ramzeez, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Ramzeez Reed, and I have been in many areas across the creative industry. I started as a videographer and editor, where over the years, I’ve filmed and edited videos that have collectively pulled in tens of thousands of views. I am also involved in music production, creating hundreds of songs working alongside emerging rappers, and helping them shape their sound and grow their presence. I have along the way had an attachment to fashion so I began modeling for art shows. As a model, I was fortunate enough to be featured in a music video that gained over 1.1 million views. That exposure gave me the push to continue in creative arts.
What sets me apart from others is my versatility. I can be involved in every aspect of the creative process, from conceptualizing a vision, to the thumbnail, to the final product, or, I can follow directions step-by-step and only be involved where needed. I think one of the most important things to offer clients and collaborators is a holistic understanding of the creative process, whether that’s in front of the camera, behind it, or in the studio.
I’m most proud of the range of projects I’ve worked on. Whether it’s helping an artist bring their music video to life or crafting visuals that captivate audiences, I feel that eventually every bit of knowledge I’ve gained about the creative process whether it was self-taught, or a digital art class in high school, will all come together and piece together a perfect puzzle. I’m still learning and evolving, and I want potential clients or followers to know that I bring a well-aged, organic passion to everything I create. It’s all about telling someone’s story through their vision and my experience.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
On July 23rd, 2015, I watched live on YouTube as they unveiled the original Diamond Play Button and I told myself that I wanted it. I acknowledge now that I did not understand what it took to earn one of those as I attempted over 15 different times at content creation with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever about it. Almost 10 years later with no Diamond Play Button in sight, I understand that it is a reward for community and not a simple, “want”. I am planning another attempt at content creation, this time talking about Professional Wrestling and some gaming, with all of the knowledge I have garnered over all of these years, and I will hope for the best. After all of these years, I still acknowledge that this may not be the last time.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Working at a restaurant, I had to learn and unlearn many times the phrase, “Time is money”, because although sometimes true, Time is far more valuable. You can find a dollar on the street in nearly any place, but every second that passes will never reappear, nor can you replicate it, nor can you exchange, sell, or do anything to get it back. unlearning that phrase will allow you to take breaks sometimes. Sometimes you deserve to watch that show you like or go to an event that you’ll enjoy or invest some time in something that maybe you don’t make money from, but that you at least enjoy the time doing. Use the money to enjoy the limited time you have.
