Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ramsey Martin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ramsey, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?

Absolutely! I’m 23 year old and for the most part of my adult life I’ve been self employed. Having a more stable income would be nice when some weeks aren’t as good but the freedom self employment brings you can’t beat it.

Ramsey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I bake homemade organic desserts. I use only certified organic ingredients. For example I make cookies, muffins, brownies, and cakes.Im very open about my ingredients I will never say I’m organic and not be truthful about my products. I have a lot of pride in baking my desserts for people and seeing their face light up after they try my desserts for the first time.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Going to farmers markets and just talking to people anywhere. At grocery stores, the mall, and at the park with other moms

Have you ever had to pivot?

I originally went to school for esthetics and soon after I graduated found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I knew I didn’t want to work a typical 9-5 job and be away from my daughter so I made my own business baking and selling my desserts.
