We recently connected with Ramon Nuñez and have shared our conversation below.

Ramon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

1. Pursuing my career was a risk. Working in the entertainment industry isn’t exactly a ‘safe bet.’ But I knew what I was destined for. I was fortunate in the way that I knew what my path was when I was a child. Of course I had the naysayers in my corner. Only one person in my family believed in me then. Aside from that I had no one to root for me other than myself. Fast forward into my young adulthood, I started working professionally in film & tv and that’s when people believed. I had to prove it to the masses. Now they believe!

Ramon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Actor, Film Maker, and Music Artist, Ramon Nuñez dreamed of becoming an acclaimed entertainer as a child. Although many didn’t believe he would succeed, external pressures couldn’t suppress the aspirations and dreams of this venerable rising star.

Well-trained in the performing arts, Ramon has developed diverse skills in television, film, and stage performances. In addition to acting, he’s a mixed martial artist who has studied Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for years and is proficient in firearm handling and stage combat.

He began entertaining as a child actor, believing in himself when most people didn’t. Raised by a hard-working single mother in The Bronx, Ramon was forced to put his career on hold until 2012. Then, he took matters into his own hands and began directing his career independently. After years of study and struggle to build a solid portfolio, numerous opportunities started presenting themselves to this determined and versatile performer.

Ramon rounds out his versatility with musical talents like songwriting. With his unique blend of hip-hop, Trap and club music, Ramon is able to bring a modern twist to the audience while retaining a catchy and fun vibe. His music is direct in spite of his incredibly diverse approach, and Ramon Nuñez is always eager to explore new ideas, but he never fails to focus on what matters: making music that’s personal and fun for the audience and himself.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

I think there’s a stigma behind creatives pursuing multiple endeavors or roads, so to speak. There’s this misconception that in life we can only pursue one career choice at a time. That couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s almost frowned upon when an artist breaks into a new lane. WHY!? Many of us have multiple talents, gifts. Why would I not use it? It’s a ‘gift’ after all. There’s nothing wrong with being multidisciplinary artist. It’s been done before I was here & it will be done after I leave this Earth. I’m a part of the creatives/artists that wear multiple hats. If that’s your calling then you can be too.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Oh I sure can. As I mentioned before, growing up I was forced to put the arts on the back burner. But once I was a bit older, I took matters completely into my own hands. I decided in my senior year of high school I wanted to focus on acting and entertainment. No one could tell me otherwise. I was old enough to start making moves independently. And I did exactly that.
