We recently connected with Ramon Harper and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ramon , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Lol one day I was hanging out with my best friend Kenisha M. and I cooked dinner ,and she looked at me and said “your food taste so good you should start a business” I looked at her and said “I been thinking about it but I don’t know what name I should call it, so she and I sat down and just started play around with names and after having no luck she looked at me and said ZestNThyme and BOOM! here we are today.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
What I would like people to know about me is I pride myself in giving my customers the best service I can give because planning events can be stressful so I like to relieve some of the stress, I’ve been in business now for 13 years and I must say it has been a journey but I would trade it for nothing in the world, I like to say that my food nourishes the soul lol I’m originally from Jackson, MS where I come from a family of bakers and soul food cooks, my next step here in Atlanta, GA is to open up a store front and get a food truck, be on the lookout.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for me is word of mouth, you have to be open to meeting new people and knowing how to be yourself, it’ll get you far.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
To be honest I think it’s the fact that I take pride in my work and I’m not going to send out anything that I wouldn’t want to eat myself.
