We were lucky to catch up with Ramon Commare recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ramon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Consistency and faith in your skillset. At some point in their lives, people tend to run into the problem of “imposter syndrome”. It’s important to understand that success doesn’t happen overnight. Not everyone becomes an overnight sensation. It takes time and consistent effort, especially in my creative field as a Photographer/Cinematographer.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a Travel photographer/cinematographer. I bought my first camera around 2016 for my travels as an active duty Navy sailor. As time went on, I evolved from the basic travel photos into more creative challenging compositions. I eventually started creating vlogs of my travels and posted them on Youtube. That is eventually how I got into cinematography. I wanted to make my vlogs standout from the typical handheld travel vlog. As video reels started to become the new trend thanks TikTok and Instagram reels, I was able to turn my vlogs into short form cinematic videos that captivate the viewer. The main thing I want my followers to take away from my content is inspiration to go and see the world. I truly think that everyone should visit other countries as much as they are able as it is very insightful to know about other cultures and their people as well as appreciate the beauty of those countries.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My endgoal is to become a Creative Director. I want to have my own team of creatives to shoot for companies and brands oriented within the Travel industry. I still want to be very hands on with the actual shooting of the photos and footage but I want to have the ability to have a full team that share the same vision.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Since this industry is very subjective, I’m very appreciative whenever my work is acknowledged by others and my creative vision is able to be understood and comprehended
