Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rami Rassas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rami, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
Every business today has to have a social media presence. The better the page, the more engaging the page, and the more esthetically appealing the page is, the more business that will lead to. I use Sunday Social group and the reason I use them is bc they hear me, understand me, and implementing the vision I desire. We both took a chance on each other. Sara, one of the founders of the company, along with Kansan Johnson, took a risk by quoting the security of her day job, to pursue an industry she was more passionate about. In fact, she came to me and said, you inspired me to quit my job, bc I quote my job of 14 years to be a chef. I told her, that if she gave her 2 weeks notice, I’ll be her first client. 3 years later, we’re both blessed to be as busy as we are.
Rami, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I grew up in the restaurant industry and I’ve cooked my entire life. I’ve had a passion for it. The passion comes from my desire to entertain and what brings more people together than food. I didn’t start doing it professionally until Covid. There was a need for meal plans and private chefs, so what better time than now. I quit my job as the director of sales for Maserati and decided to be the biggest chef in a city full of great chefs. I started a meal prep service that focuses on fresh, never frozen meals delivered twice a week. I currently have over 75 clients on subscription meal service with me. When I’m not doing meal preps I’m blessed to be welcome into peoples homes and businesses to cook for every occasion. Traveled everywhere from coast to coast cooking for everyday people and celebrities and even cooked on a yacht in the UVI I for a week.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
If you live what you do, and you do it with maximum effort and you do it everyday, you will get better at your craft. People will give you an opportunity to earn their business, and if your product is good, it will keep them there and refers others.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I live my life everyday trying to Be the best person I can be every second of every day. I was raised to treat everyone well. When I transitioned from cars to cooking, I know people gave me an opportunity bc they liked me and cared about my success and I will never forget that and I owe that all to my reputation. That’s why now, I really try to do whatever I can to help other people who want to do what I do.
