We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ralph Gallo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ralph, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

To be successful isn’t about the numbers you do. It’s about the growth and experience you make along the way that makes it successful. If you aren’t comfortable when you are doing something then you aren’t growing to be the person/business you achieve to be.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Finding Reason is a creative brand that inspires others to find their inspiration and purpose. Finding Reason was created by me, a creator who needed another outlet to showcase his creativity. I have a passion for videography and photography which grew my interests in the creative arts. Finding a reason is never clear at the beginning, but once you find something that gives you motivation, the journey is endless. I recently started screen printing all of my merchandise and it has humbled me as a business owner and creator. I chose this new direction to learn a new skill that is therapeutic and rewarding.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I was too focused on doing numbers that were too high for me to achieve at the very beginning. I had to slow down and rethink of the quality I put out to those who support my brand. I came to my conclusion that quality and my own personal touch is what makes my brand stand out.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I am still doing everything I can to put out new designs and still provide quality garments for my customers and supporters. I work a full-time job to pay all of my bills and I am fortunate to be funding my business without any loans. I believe in this business and my work so much that I hardly sleep sometimes because of all the ideas running through my mind.
