We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rajiv Jadhav a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rajiv, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. We’d love to hear about one of the craziest things you’ve experienced in your journey so far.
Truth is stranger than fiction – as summarized by this video case study – https://youtu.be/eiRaNGzXFbI
They say truth is stranger than fiction. this is the true story of an executive in transition. this executive was in the job market for almost nine months. finally after many interviews she was hoping to receive her dream offer from her dream company for her dream role. this was a high 6 figure offer. on the day she was expecting to go in & the offer she received a very disturbing e-mail and phone call from her executive recruiter. she heard those words that no one wants to hear ever in their life. those words were -they decided to go in a different direction. she was shocked she was in disbelief. how could this happen she thought especially since she was all set to accept the offer and start working within a couple of weeks. she was mentally and emotionally prepared to start working for this company. what happened she asked frantically. the executive recruiter seriously said, the company thinks you’re a criminal and has decided against hiring you. the news hit hard like a Mack truck. she asked why would they think this. the recruiter explained that someone in HR had googled her and seen someone that had her same first name that looked like her and this person has a criminal background. even though this was a case of mistaken identity the company being very conservative decided to back off and explore other options. in a panic she said Oh my God my life is over what do I do. the executive recruiter recommended she contact our square media because R square media has a reputation for solving these specific kinds of reputational crises. the client contacted our square media. we researched the issue and gave her an estimate which she immediately paid for since she was eager to get this sorted out as this would damage future job interviews and future job prospects. to our surprise we were able to get the link deleted in two weeks which was almost two months faster than we had forecasted. thanks to our fast work the executive recruiter was able to present this development to the hiring manager and was able to reverse the company’s decision and the client was hired.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At a very high level I am a serial entrepreneur, a United Nations speaker and advisor, a social impact activist, SaaS co-founder, avid podcaster and a cancer survivor.
My background is in brand consumer interaction and engagement with a focus on customer acquisition which I have done throughout my career on the agency side as well as on the client side both in Asia and North America. I have helped various Fortune 1000s brands Like Fox, Disney, Marriott, Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Citi, American Express, Ford, Suzuki, Panasonic, etc. develop unique relationships with their intended audiences online by leveraging customer insight and digital innovation. For Unilever my work has entered the Guinness Book of records for creating the world’s largest online interactive jigsaw puzzle for the Lipton tea brand. Another innovative mobile activation for AXE received a Webbie award for being Asia’s largest mobile activation as well as innovation with gamification. I have spent my entire career in helping brands manage their communication with their intended audience thus maintaining their desired online persona. It was a logical next step to set up a reputation management company – rsquare media when it became time for me to part ways with the corporate world and start my entrepreneurial journey.
Rsquare media‘s registered tagline is Be Seen or Not Be Seen. This is exactly how we are helping our clients by either increasing their visibility online through Thought Leadership or erasing Bad Press, Bad Reviews and Scandal from Google, Social & the Internet. We believe that thought leadership will elevate our clients brand and appeal thus changing the paradigm and having opportunity chase the client for a change. We are also able to elevate and globalize the clients brand by helping them to be a United Nations speaker. On the flip side of this we are rescuing clients from the unfortunate predicament of scandal, misinformation and bad reviews being linked to the clients personally, their family members, or linked to their company. Rsquare Media offers exciting products with catchy names that help deliver desired outcomes. Bazooka deletes bad press bad reviews and misinformation from Google, Social Media, and the Internet. Forcefield prevents future bad press and future threats on Google. Relocation moves the bad unfavorable content from Google page one to Google page 4 and beyond. Halo is our Thought Leadership product. with Halo we are able to help clients elevate their brand and their image by providing services that include helping them to be a United Nations speaker to globalize their brand, producing a podcast on their behalf and even ghostwriting their next Amazon bestseller.
Most of our reputation management services have a success guarantee. Simply put, Success Guaranteed or Your Money Back. This makes working with Rsquare Media extremely easy as it makes the proposition risk free for the client. Most of our work is received through our agency partners who resell our services (Whitelabel) to their clients. We are always looking to meet with marketing & PR agencies who are looking for a reliable reputation management agency to partner with.
What’s that sets apart from others who claim to do what we do is that I as the CEO am a very public person. I am very active on LinkedIn and other social media. during meetings the client is either speaking to me directly or is meeting with me through a zoom call and thus has the confidence of who they are speaking to and who they are working with. clients can see that I have more than 55 recommendations publicly posted on my LinkedIn as well as seeing that I am a United Nations speaker and advisor as well as an advisor to several governments both inside the US and outside. This usually evokes a higher trust and confidence in me as an professional Who operates with the highest levels of integrity. In 2017 I was honored with the minority business of the year award in the company of con Edison and MTA at a gala event in Manhattan. I received this honor for championing innovation for minority owned businesses and by providing excellent service to small and midsized companies.
I am a big believer and advocate of the coaching & mentoring as tools to achieve personal development. I have been blessed to have had and continue to have many mentors and coaches that I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. I know first hand the benefit and the transformative power that coaching and mentoring has in reshaping ones mindset and visualizing a better and brighter future. this is the reason why coaching and mentoring is an integral part of our culture and rsquare media. our square media has for the longest time had a very successful global membership program which it started almost since its inception in 2014. our mentorship program attracts the top talent from the top schools all over the US like Berkeley, Columbia, NYU, Emerson College, Stony Brook University, MSU, University of Michigan, Wellesley college, Columbia College, To name a few. the reason our global mentorship program is so popular among students in all the schools is that we have a focus on helping our candidates find their dream job in the fastest way possible since we are helping them to position themselves way above their peer group as well as the competition at large. our program is extremely outcome oriented and this is something that resonates with many students. our program is also remote and has been remote as far back as 2017. Another thing that separates us from any other Internet marketing company out there is that we have a zero stress work environment since we are a people first company everything is geared around the candidate where the candidate decides when they want to work what kind of work that they want to do as well as setting the deadline for delivery of the work as well. we are extremely big on communication and feedback wherein the candidate is invited to ask as many questions as they want still the time they receive 100% clarity on the task at hand. we believe that candidates will produce their best work when they are working in a zero stress work environment and are doing work that they care about and are extremely passionate about. this also helps to strengthen their body of work and their portfolio which will help them when they are in the job market interviewing against their pure group and other students. like I said everything that we do is outcome oriented including helping our mentee candidates and our interns find their dream jobs extremely fast. on average candidates that go through our mentorship program receives 2 to three job offers. The global mentorship program allowed us to also partner with New York State Department of Labor to provide onsite internships for at risk youth. whilst I had my own personal bias and fears when it came to working with this section of the population I was amazed and humbled at this experience. my key takeaways were that all these people really need is a little patience a little understanding a little love a little consideration and if you can look past the certain ticks that they may have or may display they will surprise you by producing such high quality of work that will make you rethink working with or hiring someone who identifies or has been identified as being at risk at some point in time in their life. this work somehow got on the radar of someone at the United nations and they invited me to speak at the world homelessness summit. my speech was titled solving homelessness by leveraging coaching and technology. my keynote address resonated with many present especially the delegate from the country of Malawi in Africa who reached out to me immediately after my speech and requested my assistance in helping them to solve child homelessness in Malawi. I was extremely humbled and honored by this ask as this was the first time I was helping someone on a national and global level. this then triggered me to set up my nonprofit called bright now which is focused on solving homelessness as well as enhancing our future by investing in our youth since I firmly believe that our youth is our future. our website is yourfuture is bright.org which I feel is an appropriate name since that is also our tagline for bright now – your future is bright.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
Hope is the goal which drives me. A hope for a better world. I hope for a more connected and a more harmonious world. hope for people to be the best versions of themselves. To erase the past that may be haunting them and preventing them from realizing their full potential. This is the reason why my reputation management business exists to eliminate all the misinformation that exists in the world which prevents good businesses from continuing to be good and successful. Misinformation in the form of bad reviews and bad press creates confusion in the hearts and minds of customers and often destroys the lives of the business owner who is having mud slung in his face. there is a lot of collateral damage and this must not be allowed to happen anymore, at least not on my watch. my superpower is realizing how to deal with these crazy sensitive situations and by delivering the desired outcomes of getting the bad press and bad information deleted quickly from Google social and the Internet. this allows clients to reclaim their good name and continue to go about their life whilst trying to make the world a better place for their employees their family and their clients.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Thankfully reputation management is not a capital intensive business. all the infrastructure one needs is a computer, a mobile phone and a good Internet connection. These items are everyday devices that most people already have. in my case this technology and hardware was something that I already had access to which removed any barrier to jumpstarting and kickstarting the reputation management business.
