We were lucky to catch up with Raivon Don’tez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Raivon , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The moment that I knew that wanted to pursue music on a professional level. Was all the way back in 2018 when I quit my job at McDonald’s. At that time I was writing music as a emotional outlet to manage my depression, since previously writing poetry in high school. While writing, my stepfather who was a former Rapper himself suggested that I find a studio to record in. Since he saw that I had a passion for it. After taking his advice I found the recording studio known as Timeless Recording studio. A studio in which I still record in to this very day. When I recorded my first song it was such a freeing experience and it made feel as though I finally found my purpose in life. And when I had that feeling thats when I knew that I wanted to be a Artist.

Raivon , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi my name is Raivon Don’tez and I’m a Alternative Rap Artist who blends punk rock, Rap and metal into a perfect dysfunctional amalgamation. I got into music by writing poetry at first in high school and then later in life I began to write Rap music. Since then I’ve just been consistent in writing and recording music. And I feel that’s the way to be successful in my craft. By being consistent with my music I’ve not only become more knowledgeable about the industry but I’ve become a stronger artist as well in the process. What I want the people to know about Raivon Don’tez is that I like to go against the grain and create my lane in anything that I do. I always put in 110 % in do within my craft and that I always will leave unforgettable impression when I perform.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I feel that the most rewarding part about being a artist is being able to bring a song that you wrote to life and being able to perform that. And have people gravitate to your music.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I feel that non-creatives would struggle to understand a lot of the uncertainty while being a artist. Whether if a song is a successful release or not, if people will gravitate to you as artist or not rock with you at all. And I feel that you really have to have a unwavering faith and love in your craft to really be in this craft.
