We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raisa Nse Edjang a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Raisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I have worked on is “FACES” because I created and designed it to inspire, educate, and bring awareness of diversity to children. And it’s meaningful to me because it gives hope to kids in wanting to learn and for them to have the ability to express their individualism.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Raisa Pilar Nse Edjang and I am the owner and creator of FACES. I am currently a resident in San Antonio, TX but I am originally a native of Equatorial Guinea, a country located in west central Africa.. Equatorial Guinea just so happens to be the only country in Africa where Spanish is their native language, so with that raisa decided to honor her homeland and make my coloring books in both English and Spanish. I have successfully published two editions and has donated over 200 books to the kids in her homeland. My biggest goal is to instill hunger for knowledge in the kids.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely! My goal is to instill the hunger for knowledge to the kids and hopefully that also help adults.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The appreciation of the audience it’s for. Not so much about validation but more about reaching the right audience.
