We recently connected with Rainbow Mosho and have shared our conversation below.
Rainbow, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Acquiring the discipline to learn from others takes time and the results are magnificent. A project requires a team and I cherish the experience to move from self-doubt to accomplishment. Daily efforts are made to work with committed builders and creators. Keep reading and you’ll find out what I mean!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Be ready to join me, Rainbow Mosho in my discovery of life as an artist, speaker and author on the autism spectrum. I am now a teen who can speak, be funny, survive puberty and voice my passion for life and justice. I was born in Greece and moved to the United States at 4 years old. Autism and its challenges pushed my mother to make a difficult decision seeking therapies and supports not readily found in Greece at that time. My path through school and social interaction has been intense. But art and writing opened a door I now realize is beyond effective in transmitting many messages I could not easily verbalize.
My mom Yadira reaffirmed the fact that I must keep creating because this was the megaphone that will share my voice.
At 15 years old I keep accomplishing feats many thought were not possible for many reasons of their own. I am proud to say I self-published five books in 23 months. I have a licensing agreement with LippyLu. I learn from collaborations with international artists. My art has been exhibited in the USA and abroad. The latest reward is teaching art classes and doing book readings in local libraries.
I am most proud of my willingness to try new things and discover how receptive the Web3 community is by embracing my creations and thoughts.
It is so meaningful to knows that my art, books and messages provide relevant meaning to all generations.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I have many goals. I have many dreams. I want quality of life.
I desire to see my books become animated series for all ages. Hello Amazon, Netflix, Hallmark!! Where are you?
I wish to erase the negative experiences I’ve had and lead as an example that trauma and suffering will not determine my future. With intense OCD and ADD, it is very easy to remain in a negative mindset. I fight it everyday and realize that as time passes, I will overcome the current challenges.
I don’t want to be seen as a weirdo every time I open my mouth or my sensory needs overtake my time and space.
Art, in so many forms, allows me to create at will. I know there are businesses out there who find people like me to bring about fresh ideas.
This premise drives my days and I look forward to connecting with doers and builders who will partner with me in the near future.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
