We caught up with the brilliant and insightful RaiiN Ali a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
RaiiN, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
My most meaningful project is my unreleased album dropping in September titled “Slow Food”. The circumstances in which it was created are related to my most recent work in proving nutrition, health, and wellness resources to the community. Starting a non-profit and building a program/network to incorporate these concepts into the lives of people in the community. The album “Slow Food” portrays the need for rebalance, love, patience, and to be present in our society as it relates to mental and physical health and wellbeing.
RaiiN, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my music journey 2 years ago. Some people find their craft early on and for me I lived in Thailand for 4 years and was able to develop experiences that allowed me to free my mind, develop in my health and habits, and find peace. When i returned to the states I had the capacity to translate this physical wellbeing and mental freedom into art to help influence others through my music.
As I have grown in my own artistic and wellness journey I have seen the need for the resources for people to make these changes in their own lives. From access to healthy food to resources on mental health and well being. In this, I have developed a non-profit, where in our beginning stages, we will be able to provide these resources to the youth.
I want to allow youth who are misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or mislead access to yoga, meditation and creative expression through art as an outlet for their energy and thoughts. I want to provide the community with education on health and wellness and how to understand themselves and their bodies to have access to the knowledge on how to properly consume based their individual genetic make up.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Anything where technology allows us to broaden our knowledge to the community can be used beneficially. Sometimes it can be difficult for creatives to use technology who are so present. That’s why it’s good to have a good team behind you to help with utilizing these resources. Using our friends, family members and professional relationships to help us build these outlets is key.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
