We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rahul Nath. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rahul below.
Rahul, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My passion for dancing and acting has always been there as far as I could remember. But like all people, I decided to take the route of being academic and leading the conventional route of studying and getting a job that relates to my degree,
And even though I was highly successful in my academic career, it somehow was not giving me any satisfaction on any front.
I knew at that point I had to take the chance at an entertainment career and if I didn’t, then I need to let my dream and desire fade out. So I took the chance and moved to Los Angeles with zero plan, and thankfully it has and still is, working out for me.
Many individuals discover their passion for creative and artistic pursuits at different stages of their lives.but I always knew from a young age, that entertainment was and is for me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I act, write/direct my own projects, dance and also choreograph as and when is needed.
Being multi-facted, keeps me busy at all times, taking me across the country and even worldwide.
I always had a passion for the arts and performed in dance shows and even went to an amazing adult theater school that included all students to perform in two paid plays that were open to the public. After getting rave reviews for my performances in these, I knew I had to go to the next step.
Somehow, I didn’t see a market in London for me and wanted to move to Los Angeles as I knew that fitted in with what was more of who I am. And then on moving here, I quickly became a commercial actor, booking several national commercials, appearing in huge brands such as Intel, Ford Motor company and Virgin Atlantic.
And also within that same year, I wrote and directed TWO short movies that led to me eventually writing and directing my first ever feature movie and even setting up my own production company called ‘Nik/Nak Productions’
I already was on a roll, but then my career went internationally with me working with Bollywood A List actors and Caribbean royalty, that took me to international countries where I was filming and literally living more than I could have dreamed of.
Dancing wise, I taught Bollywood dance classes from 2008 onwards and this led to amazing opportunities that allowed me to work with Kirstie Alley, Academy Award nominees and even representing brands such as Jamba Juice and State Farm Insurance, across America.
Due to my popular dance format, I also released a fitness DVD that allowed fans of my classes, to exercise in the comfort of their own home.
Here back in the USA, I started to work with comedy legends such as Steve Carell in Spaceforce, Adam Conover in Adam ruins everything and even Emmy nominees such as Milo Ventimiglia, in his own show.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The biggest reward is the fans who give you such positive feedback on what ever it is you do, be it dancing, acting and/or making movies.
Because the fans always tell the truth, so you know whatever it is that they are saying is the truth – they have no reason to lie.
And more importantly, some fans are so touched by the work that you do, that they will reach out and tell you how much your work has had a positive effect on their day to day and/or life.
That for me is the most rewarding part of this whole journey.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish social media existed back then, because it connects you to your audience in a way that allows them to see all that goes into everything that you do. Whether you’re on a film set, traveling to a location, or even just doing your regular daily chores, social media, really highlights that part of your life, that fans would never have had a chance to see or be exposed to years ago.
Also if I am being honest, the social media platforms, allow for you to be discovered even more, as you can show and display your talents on an international format, and you never who is watching. The amount of jobs that I have booked through social media has been countless and invaluable.
