Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rahsha Batiste. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rahsha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
Establishing my own Day Spa was truly a journey. Trying to go back to school in my 40’ and working in Corporate America was a bit challenging. However I finished school and built my Day Spa with little or no assistance. My funds were low and I had just filed Bankruptcy 2 years prior. With focus and determination I wasn’t giving up on my dreams. The main challenges were money and support from friends and family. No one wanted me to walk away from Corporate America.
I wouldn’t have done anything differently. I was determined and motivated to get the job done.
My advice to younger Professionals would be…don’t ever give up. Choose you first. Also learn to walk in your divine purpose. It may not be easy at first but it will be worth it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Rahsha Batiste. I have been in the esthetics world for over 8 years. My background is Corporate America within the financial industry.
Within the Day Spa I have Spa services and I just open an Esthetician school. The problem I solve for clients is keeping them out of pain and discomfort. Making sure the clients look and feel their best mind, body and soul. The high percentage of my clients services are Post Op Care. However other services range from facials, massage, body Contouring, foot detox, vaginal steam, sauna and more.
I’m very proud of my social media presence and being able create a great space for our clients. This truly allows me to be my authentic self.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Not having a financial backing from friends and family but still being able to come on top. While operating my Day Spa for the first two years, I worked my Corporate America job. Once I established the right amount of clients, I was able to leave the job.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most helpful knowledge for succeeding was working in Corporate America for 25 years first before going into business for myself. It taught me customer service. Knowing how to give good customer service is the most important. On top of this making sure you build a great support team. My support team would include contractors, attorney, book keeper, accountant and more. It’s important to make sure that your business is well supported and functioning.
