Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rahnda Myers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Rahnda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
One of the biggest risks I ever took was opening our first Sola location in 2016.
At the time, I was a stay at home mom raising three beautiful children, but “stay at home” doesn’t really describe my life. I was also heavily involved in our family owned convenience store business, working long hours while juggling everything that came with raising active kids. My days were filled with school committees, sports schedules, music lessons, academic activities, and helping run a business. Life was already busy and demanding.
The idea of opening a Sola location was exciting, but it was also terrifying. We were investing significant time, money, and energy into a business model that was still relatively new to many people in our area. There were no guarantees that beauty professionals would embrace the concept or that the location would succeed. We were taking a chance on a vision and betting on ourselves.
I remember wondering whether we were making the right decision. We already had a lot on our plates, and adding a brand new business venture meant even more responsibility and uncertainty. There were moments when the safer choice would have been to stick with what we knew.
But I believed in the concept and saw an opportunity to create something meaningful for independent beauty professionals who wanted more freedom and control over their careers. So we took the leap.
The result was life changing. What started as a risk grew into a successful business and opened doors I never could have imagined. It gave me a career that combined entrepreneurship, relationship building, and helping others achieve their goals. It also showed me that some of the most rewarding opportunities come from being willing to step outside your comfort zone.
Looking back, opening that first Sola location wasn’t just a business decision. It was the moment I proved to myself that I could be a mother, a business owner, and a leader all at the same time. It remains one of the best risks I’ve ever taken.

Rahnda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Rahnda, and I’ve always believed that success comes from hard work, relationships, and genuinely caring about people.
Long before I entered the salon suite industry, I was a busy mom raising three children while helping operate our family-owned convenience store business. My life revolved around balancing long hours in business with being fully present for my children. I was involved in their schools, served on committees, attended sporting events, supported music programs, and stayed engaged in their academics. Those years taught me how to multitask, solve problems, build relationships, and work through challenges with determination and resilience.
In 2016, my family and I took a leap of faith and opened our first Sola Salon Studios location. At the time, the salon suite concept was still unfamiliar to many beauty professionals in our market. We saw an opportunity to create something special by helping independent beauty professionals build businesses of their own while maintaining the freedom and flexibility that traditional salon environments often couldn’t provide.
Today, what I love most about my work is helping entrepreneurs change their lives. Whether someone is opening their first studio, expanding an existing business, or finally taking the step to become their own boss, I get to be part of that journey. I provide guidance, support, and resources that help beauty professionals build successful businesses in an environment where they can thrive.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the people I work with. Leasing a studio isn’t just a transaction to me. Every professional who walks through our doors has a story, goals, fears, and dreams. I take the time to understand what they’re looking for and help them determine whether our community is the right fit for them. My approach has always been relationship-driven rather than sales-driven.
The accomplishment I’m most proud of isn’t a building or a lease count. It’s the number of professionals I’ve watched grow from uncertain entrepreneurs into confident business owners. Seeing someone create financial independence, support their family, and build a career they love is incredibly rewarding.
I want people to know that our brand is about more than beautiful studios. It’s about creating opportunities. It’s about empowering beauty professionals to take control of their careers and build businesses on their own terms. I also want people to know that behind every conversation, tour, and lease is someone who genuinely wants to see them succeed.
At the end of the day, my greatest passion is helping people realize they are capable of more than they think. If I can play even a small role in helping someone build the future they envision for themselves, then I’ve done my job.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My advice for managing a team and maintaining high morale is simple: treat people with respect, communicate clearly, and genuinely care about their success. People want to feel valued, heard, and supported.
I believe in leading by example, being consistent, and celebrating both big wins and small victories. When people know what’s expected of them and feel appreciated for their contributions, they’re more engaged, motivated, and invested in the team’s success.
At the end of the day, strong relationships and trust are the foundation of any great team.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation has been built through consistency, relationships, and genuinely caring about the people I serve. Over the years, I’ve focused on being honest, accessible, and following through on my commitments.
The beauty industry is a relationship business, and I’ve always worked hard to earn trust rather than simply make a “sale”. When people know you’re dependable and truly invested in their success, word travels, and that’s been one of the biggest drivers of my reputation in the market.
