We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rahel Price. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rahel below.
Rahel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back on your career, have you ever worked with a great leader or boss? We’d love to hear about the experience and what you think made them such a great leader.
His name is Shepherd Fraught, he owns a popular fitness business in Alexandria, VA and he was the first person I worked for that I felt like I was working WITH. True definition of a leader, while still being kind and actually caring about his people. His overall worldview showed me he knew his ability to be a different kind of person and his true CHOICE to be the person he is instead. He listens to his team. He advocates for his team. I cried having to leave them because I had never worked somewhere before where I knew I wouldn’t lose my job due to a chronic illness. He helped me believe in people again in certain ways.
Rahel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the holistic health and wellness industry because I saw a need for women like me, and instead of complaining, I wanted to help fix it. When I first started my journey to heal my womb, dealing with stage four endometriosis, I had a hard time finding real women that wanted to have real conversations about what I was going through. I tell people all the time “I didn’t have a me”, so I became what I needed in hopes that I would be able to help educate and figuratively or literally hold women’s hands along their journey, to heal their body.
Currently, I provide womb centered yoga classes, stretch release services, as well as products like mindfulness capsules, and seamoss gel just to name a few. All in efforts to help folks get to the root of the issues they may be experiencing. Assisting people in life style changes that will benefit them long term.
I’m also in school to become a licensed massage therapist.
Providing a full circle approach to further my abilities to help.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Definitely have had to pivot! I’ve learned that’s ok. When I first began my career in fitness I thought I wanted to be a personal trainer. I quickly found out that that portion of wellness was not how I desired to impact. Yoga was more my speed and I reached people a lot more in that because it was already a large part of my personal life style so I could relate more.
I stopped offering training services unless they’re a client or consistent person that takes my classes. It works out much better than way for me.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The amount of moves I’ve made while still maintaining my sense of entrepreneurial spirit. During the pandemic I moved across the country from the Midwest to Vegas and boy was that a trip! I had to rebuild community, learn to trust people with my ideas, and share space with complete strangers to rebuild my class sizes and customer base. I enjoyed every minute of the challenges to be quite honest. It showed me if I can make it here I can make it anywhere!
