We were lucky to catch up with Rafał Gołda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rafał, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My name is Rafał Gołda, I am a composer and music producer from Poland. One of the most important projects in my career so far has been creating the music for the film ‘Boy Soul Man Heart’ produced by Dallada Films.
This is my debut in composing and creating music for a film. Everyone should know that this is not just an ordinary film production, there is also an important social mission behind it, as the film addresses the issue of sexual abuse of men. That’s why I feel a great responsibility, as the music is not just meant to accompany the visuals but to also enhance the film’s message, add depth to the emotions of the protagonist, and help the audience understand his story. It is a unique challenge, but also incredibly satisfying to see how music can influence the reception of such an important topic.
I am also pleased that I am not doing this alone, as I am collaborating on this soundtrack with my friend Tomasz Bedyniak. Together, we brainstorm and do our best to strengthen the film’s message with music.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always been most drawn to trance music and the ability to blend classical music with electronic elements. This was something I had always wanted to create. Many factors contributed to shaping my musical taste, but without a doubt, the biggest influence on my love for the trance genre was my cousin, who used to be a DJ. He introduced me to the world of club music when I was still a child. Around the age of 13, I started learning music production while also taking piano lessons. After several years of learning music production through trial and error, I decided that I was skilled enough to start releasing my own tracks.
I came up with my stage name, ‘One Dream’ because music has always been my top priority, and music production was my first dream for as long as I can remember. Around that time, I also discovered a genre called ‘Synthwave’ which I really liked and which captured my heart.
Since 2020, I have been regularly releasing music under the alias ‘One Dream’. I treat this project as an experiment, exploring various styles – film music, pop, trance, synthwave – all in order to learn as much as possible from each genre
Through the ‘One Dream’ project, I have met many new people. Thanks to this, in 2023, I released my first track called ‘Echoes of Hope’ in collaboration with the artist ‘JUKKA’ on the ‘Antima Music’ label, which specializes in trance music. This track was something new for me, and it gave me insight into how the collaboration between a label and an artist works. Most importantly, ‘Echoes of Hope’ was released not under the alias ‘One Dream,’ but under my real name, Rafał Gołda.
In 2023, I also received an offer to create music for a film produced by ‘Dallada Films,’ which I gladly accepted.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by a profound passion for blending different musical styles and exploring the boundaries of electronic and classical music. At the core of my mission is a desire to contribute to the music industry in a meaningful way. I am particularly motivated by the goal of eventually establishing my own record label.
I’ve observed that many smaller labels often struggle with promoting their artists effectively, despite having significant potential, and they overlook how important streaming services are in these times. This observation has fueled my ambition to create a record label that not only supports but also nurtures emerging talents. My vision is to build a label that provides these artists with the exposure and opportunities they deserve, helping them reach their full potential.
So, the mission that drives me and which I aim to achieve in the near future is to establish my own record label that will provide talented artists with the promotion their work deserves.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most satisfying aspect of being an artist is the ability to influence the emotions and experiences of others through my work. Seeing how the music I create touches and moves listeners brings me immense joy and a sense of fulfillment.
Additionally, the fact that I can experiment with various musical styles and blend genres is incredibly exciting. I derive great satisfaction from discovering new sounds and creating something unique that serves both as a personal expression and a contribution to the broader music community.
However, the greatest satisfaction comes from the prospect of the future when I can establish my own record label. This dream drives my work and gives me a sense that my creativity has a deeper purpose and impact.
